'AGT' Season 19 judges make strong prediction about Ashes & Arrows original song
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Howie Mandel was not impressed by the original song performed by the country band Ashes & Arrows during their audition. Despite this, they advanced and aimed to win him over with a "stadium feel" song in the Season 19 quarterfinals of 'America's Got Talent.'
The song is designed for audience participation and features a strong tempo. The duo's lovely harmonics are undeniable, with one member showcasing a soft tenor and the other a gruff baritone. However, towards the end, the tenor's performance began to sound a bit shouty.

'AGT' judge Howie Mandel compared Ashes & Arrows to a good 'pub band'
During their audition, the country rock group Ashes & Arrows had 'AGT' viewers joyfully moving to the rhythm, but not everyone was a fan of their upbeat original song. Judge Howie compared the Nashville-based band to a decent "pub" band, expressing that he couldn't fully support them. His critical remark was met with boos from fans and fellow Judge Sofía Vergara, who were among the many applauding the performance.
'AGT's Ashes & Arrows was formed during an open mic night
After an open mic night in Nashville, Ciaran McMeeken, Benjamin Voigt, and Jonathan Calhoun discovered their mutual admiration for one another, which led to the formation of the band Ashes & Arrows in 2021. As stated on their website, the trio then came together to provide a “captivating blend of strong harmonies, poignant lyrics, and infectious on-stage presence”.
The moniker Ashes and Arrows pays homage to their unique origins, which stretch from the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, to the "Alps" of Arrowtown, New Zealand. It also nods to their varied histories.
