'Aggretsuko' returns for a third season and we may just be about to see some major changes in Retsuko's (Kaolip/Rarecho/Erica Mendez/Jamison Boaz) life - not least of which is a significant change in tone for the music that's to be featured on the show if the trailer is any indication. A shift from heavy metal karaoke nights to pop music concerts might not be the only change in store for Retsuko, however, as a promotion to accounting head might just distance her from her office colleagues Fenneko (Rina Inoue/Katelyn Gault) and Haida (Shingo Kato/Ben Diskin). All this and more as money becomes a more pressing problem than usual.

Financial problems have always been a source of great stress for Retsuko, but this season those problems become a great deal more worrying than usual. Already blowing a significant chunk of her money on a Virtual Reality boyfriend to help deal with her loneliness, an unfortunate car accident sees her in need of a sudden influx of funds to pay for the damage. Opportunity comes knocking when Retsuko is promoted to accounting head, but this might just make things more stressful than ever - especially given that she is now in charge of managing a band that's pure pop, a musical experience that is very much against Retsuko's heavy metal tastes. To make things worse, Retsuko is in charge of dealing with not just the music, but the more commercial aspects of the "fan experience."

In the meanwhile, her position at work and her financial woes see Retsuko keeping certain secrets from her co-workers, who are shrewd enough to quickly realize that she's been lying to them. They're naturally hurt by this, especially as Retsuko grows more and more distant and starts to feel like the sort of colleagues one only socializes with at work out of necessity. What can Retsuko do to find a moment's peace? All she really needs is 10 seconds, at the right time, doing the right thing. You can watch the trailer for Season 3 below:
