Spoilers for 'Agents of SHIELD' Season 7 Episode 6 'Adapt or Die'
Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) dies again. Or hopefully, he hasn't just like how Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) believes he hasn't. But that move of him blowing himself up to stop the Chronicom Hunters threat was completely unexpected even though the agents accomplished their mission. This isn't the first time he's died on the show, but that move he pulled left fans shellshocked as they expressed their thoughts on Twitter.
"Coulson dying for the cause? Must be a day that ends with "y" a fan tweeted. "I just want Phil Coulson!!!!! I just want him back Both Melinda and I are so tired of him being with us and then taken away again #CoulsonLives," a fan wrote. "He better come back again!" another fan seconded.
"Whelp...I’m officially nervous," a fan remarked. "Oh crap, Coulson. Again?! #AgentsofSHIELD" a fan tweet read. "Ah come on he wasn't gonna get killed, killed. Lol. But still, he had me all this part of the plan better work, even though I knew it was coming. Idk if I wanna slap him or hug him for that?" a fan tweet read.
"Yeah, time is limited, which means sacrifice comes at a real cost...not just data. Heart and pain and blood and sweat and tears—all the good human stuff. And we will never give up. I always look forward to @clarkgregg and inspirational Coulson moments," a fan exclaimed.
"So, there's good: the bad guys' plans were thwarted. Daisy and Sousa are home, safe. There's bad: Coulson's gone again, and the Chronicoms, eviler than ever, killed Mack's parents. The fun time-travel hijinks are getting less fun. #AgentsOfSHIELD," a fan opined.
"I know it is a tough pill to swallow, but I know Coulson will be back. There is still half a season and now way on earth will they kill him. He might die again in the end, but oh well what else is new?" a fan remarked. "It's too early to die again," another fan tweeted.
