'Agents of SHIELD' Season 7 kicked off with a bang with the team racing against the Chronicom hunters to prevent the alien robots from altering history. But unfortunately, that means going against everything they believe in and saving their mortal enemy, the fanatical terrorist organization known as Hydra.

The fact that Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) and the others would have to save Hydra to save SHIELD was revealed in the season trailer, so it wasn't much of a surprise for viewers. But if you ask fans on Reddit, it's still a pretty genius story that they are looking forward to. "Holy F*** the Hydra twist was f***ing genius," one enthusiastic fan wrote on the episode's discussion page. "Best show I've ever seen, god I'm hype as f*** for this season." Another fan weighed, "What a way to start the new season. I see Simmons is a psychotic as usual. And having to save Hydra to save shield, that's hilarious," and added, "So far so good." One fan wrote, "I know the Hydra twist was coming as it was in trailers sadly but still it's a good plot." Another chimed in, "To those saying the twist was spoiled: Yeah... it was. But luckily we know they will travel in time more and its 13 episodes. I highly doubt it is all Hydra related as we saw Agent Sousa in a promo shot and that is the 50's."

The episode also featured a strange vial of green liquid that some fans have speculated may be the Super-Soldier Serum that transformed Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) into Captain America. However, considering the timeline, most fans don't think it could be that specific serum, though it might be a prototype of some sort.

"Quote of the episode: pretty much everything Coultron said was gold," one fan wrote. "Also, I doubt that was the Super Soldier serum. I know that it had been in the works for a while but I'm fairly certain Erskine is in Europe somewhere at this time." Another fan asked, "Anyone think those vials are what Red Skull takes? An incomplete super-soldier serum." Yet another fan replied to that comment writing, "That’s what I was thinking too, but why would they be in NY so long before TFA?"

Well, all will be revealed when 'Agents of SHIELD' returns next week with the second episode of its seventh and final season. 'Agents of SHIELD' Season 7 airs Wednesdays at 10 pm ET on ABC.
