After heralding a successful two-day concert as an eight-member group, TWICE has now broken a new success record. JYP Entertainment’s rocking girl group TWICE ended the first leg of their fourth world tour, ‘III’, which began with their two-day concert in Seoul, South Korea and the day was full of highs for Onces (the TWICE fandom).

Now, after the success of the concert, the girl group has bagged another first and has become the only girl group to have more than one single to have surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify with their 2021 releases. In the year 2021 alone, TWICE released not one but three hit lead singles in Korean and three other lead singles in Japanese.

TWICE started 2021 off with their tenth mini-album, ‘Taste of Love’, with the song ‘Alcohol-Free’ as its title track, then followed it with their first all-English single, ‘The Feels’, and lastly with ‘Scientist’, the lead single of their third full-length album ‘Formula of Love:O+T=<3’.

TWICE cross 100 million streams for ‘Alcohol-Free’

Out of these three singles that the girl group TWICE released in 2021, ‘The Feels’ was the first single from the JYP Entertainment group to have surpassed 100 million streams on the global music platform Spotify. On December 26, TWICE broke another record with their June 2021 single, ‘Alcohol-Free’, which had reported to have surpassed over 100 million streams on the platform. With this, TWICE has now a total of 11 songs from their entire discography to have surpassed 100 million Spotify streams.

Not only that, ‘Alcohol-Free’ is now the third-fastest song from JYP Entertainment to hit 100 million streams on Spotify surpassing ITZY's ‘Wannabe’, which did that in 200 days after its release. With this, TWICE is now the first and only girl group to hit the milestone with 2021 releases.

TWICE owe their happiness to Onces

The girl group TWICE is not only breaking records but also celebrating the successful culmination of their two-day Seoul concert. On December 25 and 2, TWICE performed in front of fans for the first time since the start of the pandemic as part for the first leg of their Fourth World Tour, ‘III’ at the KSPO DOME, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The second day of the concert was broadcast for fans online via Beyond Live’s VLive channel. Not only that, the show was full of performances from the group TWICE for their Once’s. The title of their album which the group performed at the concert, ‘Formula of Love: O+T=<3’ also implied that “When Once and Twice meet, it becomes love”.

As part of the concert, TWICE performed a series of their songs including, ‘Fancy’, ‘Knock Knock’, ‘What is Love?’ as well as ‘More and More’ which were all their old hits. Alongside that, TWICE also performed their 2021 hit singles like ‘Alcohol-Free’, ‘The Fee;s’ and ‘Scientist’ in front of fans for the first time. With a total of 35 songs performed at the show, TWICE members (barring Jeongyeon who skipped the concerts due to health isses) left Onces with a message of love.

The members said, “It is like a dream and a miracle to meet Once in Seoul after 2 years and 7 months. We prepared this performance with gratitude and sincerity. We are together as a group because of Once and we were able to spend a fruitful year.”

TWICE members concluded the show saying, “The last two days spent with you were the happiest of 2021, and it was a precious time that will be remembered for a long time to come. Now after a successful Seoul concert, the Fourth World Tour: ‘III’ from TWICE will expand internationally in second different venues starting from February of 2021. Find more details here.
