Undeniably, Episode 11 of 'Emergence' managed to strike the right chord with viewers by presenting an extremely intriguing plotline. Romance, machines, emotional family reunion or unexpected twists, you name it and 'Applied Sciences' had it all.

Although Jo (Allison Tolman) succeeds in bringing Piper (Alexa Swinton) home yet again, some of her actions in doing so have given rise to a lot of questions. To a certain extent, her decisions can be still justified when her motherly instincts are taken into consideration.

For instance, watching her stand before Benny unshaken even when threatened at gunpoint is understandable. But, how could she blindly place her trust in Emily, despite being well-aware of her abilities?

Throughout Episode 11, we see Emily show a lot of eagerness in helping Jo. The police chief who was initially skeptical about accepting Emily's offer to help is soon seen working plans with the same woman who once tried to get rid of Piper.

Emily may have led Jo to Piper by decoding the AI's message, but what good does that serve in establishing the former's true intentions?

At the very beginning of the series itself, we realize there is much more to Emily than meets the eye. Not only is she a highly-skilled programmer, but she is also a crooked human who got her father murdered within the limits of the federal unit.

We can’t help but question Jo's mindlessness when she thinks it's absolutely safe to send Emily with Brooks and not once thinking about his safety.

Knowing Emily well, it wouldn't be surprising to watch her turn Helen's ally. In fact, both of their lives are driven by a common motive, to build AIs. So what could possibly stop her from leveraging her skills for freedom, if Helen targets her next?

We need to wait until the next episode to understand Piper’s true intentions. Meanwhile, Jo needs to prepare herself for an uphill battle as bigger forces are coming for Piper.
