The much-awaited summer horror film ‘Abandoned’ is releasing in theatres by June 17, 2022.
What is ‘Abandoned’ all about?
The story of the film revolves around Sara (Emma Roberts), her husband Alex (John Gallagher. Jr), and their infant baby boy who move into a quaint and remote farmhouse in hopes of starting a new life as a family over there. But they don’t know that this house has a very dark and tragic horror history attached to it. When their new home’s dark roots and origins are revealed, it takes a huge toll on Sara’s mental mindset which then goes to the level of psychosis. It not only endangers Sara’s life but their son’s safety is jeopardized as well.
The official synopsis reads, “Abandoned follows the sharply intense lives of Sara (Emma Roberts), her husband Alex (John Gallagher Jr), and their infant son as they move into a remote farmhouse, which harbors a dark, tragic history. As their home’s past is revealed, the mother’s fragility escalates to a state of psychosis that jeopardizes her own safety and that of her newborn son. Directed by Spencer Squire, the film stars Emma Roberts (American Horror Story, Nerve), John Gallagher Jr. (Peppermint), and Michael Shannon (Heart of Champions)”.
