Spoilers for 'A Million Little Things' Season 2 Episode 19 ''Til Death Do Us Part"

Things were beginning to get better for Eddie Saville (David Giuntoli). He had begun season 2 by coming clean about his infidelity to his wife Katherine (Grace Park). He then tried to work from the bottom up and mend his relationship with her. He got a job and even though he doesn't get to make the same kind of music that he did earlier, Eddie wishes to keep the job because his family needs a steady source of income. His relationship with his son has also slowly become better - Theo (Tristan Byon) might have been upset with him about cheating on the family, but an honest heart-to-heart between them almost took care of it.

When Eddie's sister Lindsay (Sprague Grayden) returned to his life, Katherine and Eddie were getting ready to renew their wedding vows. But Lindsay brought along with her  a mystery. She asked Eddie if he remembered the lakehouse. Two decades ago, Alex (Olivia Steele Falconer), their family friend's younger daughter and Eddie's sweetheart, drowned and died. Alcohol and drugs were involved, which has led the Saville siblings to wonder if Eddie had anything to do with the death.

Eddie is obsessed with finding out what happened. If he has in fact played any part in Alex's death, he wants to know as he doesn't want anything to threaten his marriage anymore. There are one too many mistakes he regrets making, but not anymore.

This new mystery hasn't impressed fans as many think it is an unnecessary addition to Eddie's character. "This Eddie arc seems so unnecessary. We don’t need another mystery," noted a fan. It is hard to find the plotline interesting because fans don't care for Alex, who has had no substance on the show thus far. "This Alex mystery is completely unnecessary, especially at this point in the season and with a character no one heard of," concurred another fan.

Some point out that Alex's introduction to Eddie's character is so sudden, they have no idea what is going on. "What I don’t get about the stupid Alex story is... Did everyone just figure out AFTER Eddie left the town, that he may have been involved in her death? I don’t understand, how did he never realize that people think he was involved?"

At the same time, many viewers are complaining that the show fails to stay true to its characters by introducing and brushing them off on a whim. "This show brings in so many people that seem to be major players but just end abruptly. Ashley Morales (Christina Ochoa), PJ (Chandler Riggs) and his mom Barbara Morgan (Drea de Matteo), Eric (Jason Ritter), and now soon to be Alex and Dakota (Anna Akana)," rued a fan. "It makes it hard to get invested. I really don't care about this Alex person at all," commented another.

It looks like Eddie has repressed what happened at the lakehouse and in all likelihood, he could be involved in Alex's death. With the upcoming episode being the season 2 finale, we will know what happens. Or maybe not.

'A Million Little Things' airs on Thursdays at 10/ 9c on ABC.
