'A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 16: Eddie's sister returns sober but also brings along a mystery

We're guessing this is a new mystery the makers have tied to the story. What remains to be seen is if they will make a mess of it as they did with the Eric plotline

Spoiler alert for Season 2 Episode 16: 'Change of Plans'

The Saville household is preparing for the arrival of Eddie Saville's (David Giuntoli) sister Lindsey (Sprague Grayden), who hasn't been in touch with her brother or his family for a decade now. Because they do not want to take any more risks surrounding Lindsey and her addiction. Meanwhile, Katherine Saville (Grace Park) is set to take Theo Saville (Tristan Byon) to a tag game. But when Katherine is suddenly called in for work, their plans are ruffled a bit.

But with that resolved, Lindsey arrives at the Saville house with only Eddie there. Together, they reminisce about their childhood, about making Eddie's earliest gigs happen, about shenanigans from each others' big life events - like the time when Lindsey was drunk during Eddie and Katherine's wedding and force-fed the wedding cake to guests. There is so much that the two have to catch up on, but we couldn't help feeling the detachment between the two. Not just as characters but even as siblings who have spent a decade away from each other during the most important milestones of their lives but even as actors too. Giuntoli and Sprague are disengaging and unconvincing in their portrayal of siblings with a troubled past.

When setting up Lindsey, Eddie finds a bit of cocaine under the sofa and throws her out of the house only to realize later that the drug never belonged to her. With a very tough year behind him, Eddie did not want to take any risks with Lindsey being in the same house as Theo, hence his reaction. When he finds out that it was actually Dakota's cocaine (Anna Akana), he brings Lindsey back, who returns with a weird query for him.

Lindsey asks Eddie about a certain lakehouse their family used to frequent once upon a time. Apparently, after some accident, their family did not return for two decades. And now Lindsey suddenly asks him about the lakehouse plus she doesn't even tell him her real intentions behind asking him that. What is the story of the lakehouse? We're guessing this is a new mystery the makers have tied to the story. What remains to be seen is if they will make a mess of it as they did with the Eric (Jason Ritter) plotline.

'A Million Little Things' airs on Thursdays at 10/ 9c on ABC.
