'90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way': Kenneth and Armando struggle to get permission for their same-sex marriage

Kenneth “Kenny” Niedermeier and Armando Rubio were looking forward to spending their happily ever after, but before that, the duo wants to get married. Armando decided to continue to say in Mexico because he wanted to make sure his daughter Hannah had the space to grow and be near her family. 

Kenneth decided to agree with this in the hope that they could build a life together. However, life in Mexico was not a fairytale for the couple. Since people were still not receptive to the idea of seeing people of the same-sex together, Armando and Kenneth wondered what the future might hold for them.

Despite this, they knew marriage was on the cards. To make sure they could have the wedding of their dream, Armando and Kenneth decided to act on it and find a place that they could walk down the aisle in. However, Armando had to write a letter requesting permission to get married while mentioning that they were a same-sex couple. 

Kenneth thought that their age difference could post a problem. However, Armando assured him that their age was the least of their worries. He was quick to add that even though same-sex marriages have been legal in Mexico since 2015, it has not been an easy road for anyone who wants to follow through it. 

Armando added how things are easier for a heterosexual couple in Mexico. Kenneth was not happy to see how they were facing roadblocks all over again. However, he knew how important marriage was to him and Armando. Keeping this in mind, he decided to try everything in his power to make sure they can have the wedding they wanted. 

This is not the first time the pair faced such issues. Kenneth had a hard time adjusting to the change in culture as he could not hold Armando's hand in public. This made Kenneth realize how things were different in Mexico. At the same time, the pair became a victim of bullying when a passerby passed comment on their relationship. 

Seeing how things have always been hard for them, Kenneth knew getting approval for marriage will be the same. Will the pair handle rejection, or can they get past the difficulties?
