'90 Day Fiancé': Darcey Silva-Georgi Rusev are engaged, fans call their love 'furthest thing from a fairytale'

The 46-year-old reality star got engaged to Georgi after the duo met on social media but turns out Georgi has still not divorced his first wife

After several heartbreaks on television, Darcey Silva is ready to "shout it to the world" that she is engaged to the man of her dreams.

The 46-year-old star of ‘90 Day Fiance’ and ‘Darcey & Stacey’ got engaged to Georgi Rusev, a 32-year-old masseuse from Bulgaria. The duo met on social media. According to People magazine, Georgi proposed to Darcey earlier this year and they were secretly engaged in June. "I still feel newly engaged. I haven't been able to really celebrate it yet with everybody. I want to be able to shout it to the world," she tells People. "It was definitely a total surprise for me. Georgi and I have a very deep connection, and I feel like in that moment I was not expecting it at all."

Darcey met her fiance Georgi for the first time in Miami during Super Bowl weekend and the connection was "instant", says Darcey. They moved in together earlier this year at the onset of the pandemic, which made it difficult for Georgi to plan the perfect proposal. Their romance is documented on TLC's hit franchise show ‘Darcey & Stacey’.

"It was really hard to find the ring, make calls, make the reservation for the boat, for dinner," says Rusev. After saying "yes" to Rusev, Darcey quickly called her teen daughters, Aniko and Aspen, to share the happy news.

The only thing putting a damper on Darcey’s excitement is when she found out that Georgi was still married and was going through divorce as shown on a recent episode of ‘Darcey and Stacey’. Silva says any obstacles they've faced have only made them "stronger". Meanwhile, the news of their engagement garnered a lot of attention from fans and some were quick to judge Georgi’s divorce situation. "Nice to be engaged to someone who’s still married..... let’s see how this all plays out,” wrote one user. “Georgi's still married. There will be a glitch w/the divorce, Darcey will get drunk & cry, then on to the next much younger guy & another @TLC payday,” wrote another user.

Some were quick to judge Darcey saying, “I hope she is happy. She wants to be married for the wrong reasons though.” While another user tweeted, “This is the furthest thing from a fairytale but congratulations to her!!!” “
