'90 Day Fiancé': Why didn't Hazel Cagalitan bring son Harry to US? Here's a detail we know about her past
Hazel Cagalitan and Tarik Myers easily make for one of the more complicated couples '90 Day Fiancé' has on the roster this season. Right from the word go, they were trouble. Their story got off to a rough start. When Tarik visited Hazel in the Philippines, he learned of her financial condition. He immediately knew what their next steps would be. They decided on moving to the US, which meant she would have to apply for a K1 visa. After it was confirmed, she arrived in Virginia.
The first few days went smoothly. Tarik showed Hazel around, they ate out and shopped. And in between their meaningful conversations, they also slipped in the deal they had - looking for a girlfriend for Hazel. She is openly bisexual in America, a facet of her identity she has kept hidden in her hometown because her culture doesn't approve of it. But now that she's away from it, Hazel wants to explore and embrace all of it.

Tarik wanted to make sure that she was in no way unhappy during her 90-day stay in the country and so, readily agreed, zeroed in on an app that will help them pick a girlfriend of her choice. She would also become a part of their relationship, which meant Tarik would be equally invested and involved in it. Ideally, this should make Hazel happy but she isn't able to enjoy her time.
Hazel has a lot on her mind. She comes with baggage. In Episode 10 of '90 Day Fiancé' Season 8, we see Hazel cry inconsolably while she shares her concerns with Tarik. The couple and his daughter Auri are working out at his house when she begins complaining about the Covid-19 lockdown. But that is the least of her worries as she adds how she received a call from her son Harry's stepmother, who informed her that he has a fever.
This is concerning given the current situation and the fact that she is sitting miles away from Harry. This has led to a very simple yet pressing question that fans have been asking on social media: Why didn't Hazel bring her son Harry to the US with her? In '90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days', we learned how Hazel didn't have enough money and so had to give Harry away to his father when he was three years old. "My son lived with me when he was 3 years old. I love him but I didn’t have enough money and so I give my son to his father," she had said in one of the episodes.
Even though this pushed Dean Hashim (Tarik's brother) to make disparaging comments about Hazel and how she is not a good mother for giving up on her child that quick, Tarik assured her that once she gets full custody of Harry and they are fully settled in the US, he will bring her kid to them, Screenrant reported. Let's hope he's able to live up to his promises.
Meanwhile, here's what some of the users shared on the show's Facebook page. "Needs to spend more time on getting her son here and not about her getting a girlfriend. I don't care if she's BI, but one at a time for the sake of the kids. Why didn't she bring him when she came? I don't remember," one wondered, another posted: "Tarik didn't want him to come over until he was sure of how she would get along with his daughter. He wants to wait for a year, very insensitive because she has asked him numerous times when they will be bringing him over."
