'90 Day Fiance': What is Tarik Myers' religion? Girlfriend Hazel Cagalitan thinks he is 'scared' of her church
Tarik Myers and Hazel Cagalitan's relationship has continued to maintain its status as one of the most interesting narratives of '90 Day Fiance'. When they first appeared on '90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days', the couple gave all the gossip that fans needed to chat about for a lifetime. Not only did their trust and intimacy issues play out, but also how Hazel and Tarik dealt with her bisexuality formed an integral part of their storyline over the years.
In this week's episode of '90 Day Fiance' Season 8 we see the couple step out for a quick breakfast at a nearby cafe. As Tarik guided Hazel through a typical American breakfast — chicken waffles, eggs, and sausages — he slyly dropped the idea of them getting married at a spiritual center. Not only was she surprised that he would begin planning their wedding this early but perhaps a tad disappointed that he didn't consider the church as a possible wedding venue option.
"I think he is scared of the church," Hazel said during her confessional and added: "In my family, religion is important and I want my parents to happy." When she inquired with Tarik if that was the case, he said that he was not really scared of the church but the kind of church services she went for was scary for him. So, what's Tarik religion? Not much is known about the faith he follows but he is surely apprehensive of the kind Hazel does.
What happened when Tarik and Hazel went to church in the Philippines?
Tarik wanted to be there for Hazel, learn everything about her, and absorb a bit of culture when he possibly got the shock of his life. "This is so different than any church service I’ve ever been to. This is on a completely different level," he had said in his green-room interview.
The churchgoers, including Hazel's parents, were throwing themselves on the floor, crying and sticking their tongues out. "I don’t even know what to do with myself. I can’t wait to get out of here. It’s just crazy," he added.
What's the couple up to now?
They are very clear about their goals. They want to get married but before they can walk down the aisle, Tarik must come clean about him getting in touch with ex-girlfriend Minty, and later, needs to find a girlfriend for Hazel.
