'90 Day Bares All': Did brothers Tarik Myers and Dean Hashim have a fallout over money?
'90 Day Fiancé' has given viewers as many spinoffs as they have couples. 'Pillow Talk' is easily one of the most popular shows to come out of the franchise, seeing that it features past couples watching the show or the spinoffs as they drop. It allows viewers to see what their favorite couples (or singles) are now up to, combined with hilarious commentary on all the craziness that's '90 Day Fiancé'.
One duo that was definitely a fan favorite was Tarik Myers and his brother Dean Hashim. Fans were introduced to Tarik and his now-fiancée, Hazel Cagalitan on '90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days', where Tarik, who is from Virginia Beach, flew to the Philippines to meet Hazel, who he began talking to via an international dating app. The couple seemed to be off to a rocky start and it didn't help when Tarik's brother Dean made a comment about Hazel being "woman enough" for Tarik in bed. The duo definitely left fans with a sour taste in their mouth during their initial run, but their redemption came soon enough when the brothers were featured on 'Pillow Talk'. Their playful banter and hilarious comments had the viewers in splits, instantly making them a crowd favorite on the show. Until they were suddenly dropped from the spin-off in 2018.
Fans assumed it was due to Dean making remarks about fellow 'Pillow Talk' costar, Tim Malcolm's sexuality (Dean and Malcolm have reconciled since). But, the latest '90 Day' spin-off, '90 Day Bares All', reveals the truth behind what went down between the brothers and why they've been missing on 'Pillow Talk'.
In conversation with Shaun Robinson, Tarik reveals that Dean tried to get him fired from the show.
"We got asked to do 'Pillow Talk'. Everything was going fine, as far as I knew. We finished filming the last episode of ' Pillow Talk' that we did, afterwards, Dean and I went out, chopped it up, grabbed some dinner. He goes back home, I go back home, thinking everything is great. A week later, the executive producer of 'Pillow Talk' calls me like, yo, your brother quit." Said Tarik, while explaining his side of the story.
"I had no idea that Dean had all of these problems with me. He just went completely two-faced on me. I was like, this can't be true. (I) Picked up my phone - I'm blocked on all of his social media. And my telephone number is blocked. I called the executive producer back, and I'm like, call Dean, you know what I'm saying? I'm blocked on all social media, I tried to get Hazel to call him, but he blocked her. The producer kind of said, look man, I'm going to level with you, your brother said he quit because you were cutting him off. When you were doing 'Pillow Talk' segments, you were cutting him off, not letting him finish his jokes and you were always talking over him. If anybody knows, if anybody has watched me and Dean on ' Pillow Talk', you know that the adverse is true."
The producer in mention tried to get the brothers to talk, on Tarik's insistence, but it was in vain, seeing that Dean didn't want to talk about it. It didn't help that Dean moved to The Philippines, without telling his brother, seeing that he found out via Instagram. Tarik went on to talk about how strained their relationship has now gotten seeing that money was also involved in the mix.
"To put it mildly, we were very popular on 'Pillow Talk'. And we were getting paid well. So, you know, I'm not hurting financially, but Dean knew the plans that we had, for investments and all kinds of things." Tarik said, shedding light on the situation. Shaun tried to suggest that maybe there was a past issue at play, but Tarik cleared the air about that.
"I have never had an issue with Dean. He and I have never like, not talked, never. All of this came out of the blue."
Shaun went on the say that she does need to hear Dean's side of the story and hopes that she can get the brothers to reconcile. Looks like the next episode is going to see the brothers either battle it out or make peace. We're hoping it's the later, but looks like we will have to wait to find out.
