5 'The Umbrella Academy' characters we hope to see in Season 4
Contains spoilers for 'The Umbrella Academy' Seasons 1-3
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It's a bittersweet moment for the fans as Netflix's popular show 'The Umbrella Academy' braces to return one last time. Season 4, set to premiere on August 8, 2024, will give an explosive end to the adventures of the dysfunctional Hargreeves family.
Season 4 will mark the return of most of the lead characters from Season 3. This includes Viktor (Elliot Page), Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Five (Aidan Gallagher), Ben (Justin H. Min) among others.
However, several supporting characters from the three seasons made a significant impact on the storyline with their appearances, and we hope they return for Season 4 and receive a satisfying conclusion. Let's take a look:
1. Grace Hargreeves (played by Jordan Claire Robbins)
Remember Grace? The robotic nanny and mother figure to the Hargreeves siblings? Grace had a special bond with each of the Hargreeves kids.
When the house collapsed, it seemed Grace was destroyed. But in the world of 'The Umbrella Academy', nothing is ever certain. We hope to see elements of her past or even a version of her come back in Season 4.
There’s a lot more to explore about why Reginald designed Grace to look like his 1960s partner. Grace’s mysterious actions in Season 3, like giving Reginald poison, left fans with more questions. Maybe Season 4 will give us some answers.
2. Axel (played by Kris Holden-Ried)
Axel is one of 'The Swedes' and has caused quite a stir. By the end of season 2, Axel is the only one left alive from his group, partly because of Allison’s manipulation.
His last scene showed him joining Klaus’s cult, Destiny’s Children. Axel wasn’t around in Season 3, but his story might not be over. With time travel in play, there's always a chance Axel and his brothers could return.
'The Umbrella Academy' Season 4 might reveal what Axel has been up to and whether his brothers have a shot at coming back.
3. Jill (played by Mouna Traoré)
Jill is a member of Destiny’s Children and caught Ben’s eye in Season 2. She’s smart and bubbly and made the unusual choice of leaving an Albright scholarship to join Klaus’s cult.
Jill wasn’t seen in Season 3, but with Axel joining the cult, there’s hope she’ll return. Fans want to see if Jill finds out her affair with Klaus was actually with Ben, and how that impacts her loyalty to Klaus and the cult.
4. Dot (played by Patrice Goodman)
Dot works at the Commission and helps the Academy get back to their own time. Though she appears sweet, there might be more to her story.
Dot’s loyalty to Five could be tested in Season 4, especially since she’s in charge of the apocalypse file. Fans are curious if her allegiance will shift and what secrets she might be hiding.
5. Herb (played by Ken Hall)
Herb, the underrated character of 'The Umbrella Academy', provided many funny moments in the series. He seemingly met his end when the Kugelblitz struck, but later appeared in a flashback helping Lila.
Herb’s knowledge about Lila’s parents is crucial, and fans hope Season 4 will reveal if he shared this information with her. As the new leader of the Commission, Herb’s role in Season 4 could be pivotal.
