2024 Daytime Emmy Awards: Kelly Clarkson trumps Jennifer Hudson
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kelly Clarkson won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series for 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'. The 'American Idol' alum's show was up against 'The Jennifer Hudson Show'. However, The 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony snubbed Jennifer's show for Kelly's.
Kelly's show has notably won four consecutive Daytime Emmys in the same category. After winning the award, Kelly brought her creative team on to accept the big win. She thanked her coworkers, NBC, and those who helped her move her show from Los Angeles to New York City after season 4.
Kelly moved to NYC because she wanted a fresh start after finalizing her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The pair split in 2020. Meanwhile, Jennifer was hoping to win the award for her show after her first Emmy win in 2021 for Outstanding Interactive Media for a Daytime Program for her work on Baba Yaga.

In her acceptance speech, Kelly said, "It's important to say that not everybody really thinks about what's going on behind the scenes.'
She elaborated, "The fact that NBC, a huge company, took time and listened when I said, 'Hey, my life is not going super great. I don't know if I can live here anymore. I don't know if I can do this'." Kelly added, "They really wrapped their arms around us, and they helped us move…. The move has been so great, not just for me and my family, but our whole show."
