It has been less that a day since singer P!nk expressed her distaste over parents exploiting and sexualizing their teenage children on social media. YouTuber Piper Rochelle, who was mentioned in the musician's tweet as an example of an 'exploited' teenager, has now shared her side of the story. She claims that she is very much in charge of what gets posted on her social media accounts. Rockelle also wanted everyone to know that unlike what P!nk thinks, her mom is hardly the person that makes her do anything, let alone pose for photos in bikinis.

P!nk was recently in the news for her Amazon Prime documentary 'All I Know So Far' which shed light on her unconventional 15-year-old marriage to Carey Hart, as well a cameo by Cher that fans went crazy over. But this time, many seemed to disagree with P!nk, including Rockelle, who clearly wasn't ok with the seasoned singer's opinion.

The entire debacle began with P!nk tweeting: "How many kids like Piper Rockelle are being exploited by their parents? And at what point do the rest of us say… “this isn’t okay for a 13 yr old to be posing in a bikini whilst her MOTHER takes the photo?!?!” To that several people pointed out that a mother clicking photos of her daughter in a swimsuit was no big deal. People didn't quite get what P!nk deemed so inappropriate about Rockelle's photos. And shortly after, the YouTuber released her own statement via TMZ.

"The first thing I want everyone to know is that my mom doesn't make me do anything. Quite the opposite, I'm a kid who had a dream and my mom is amazing enough to help me live it out," said Rockelle, who is a 14-year-old actor, dancer, and singer, known for her YouTube content. She slammed P!nk's worries, adding: "I don't think P!nk has ever seen one of my YouTube videos because if she did she'd see it's just my friends and me having fun and acting like ourselves. The content we make is the kind of stuff anyone can watch."

Adding that she was sporting a bikini because it's summer, Rockelle also claimed there's nothing sexual about a 14-year-old wearing a two piece swimsuit. She also revealed that ever since P!nk stirred controversy, she has found out that the singer herself began pursuing her dreams of stardom at the same age that Rockelle is now. This makes her wonder why P!nk is giving her flak for doing the same thing the older musician has done in the past, reports TMZ.

Rockelle however acknowledges that "There are kids who are being taken advantage of and that's a real problem, but I'm not one of them." And social media seems to agree with her stance about getting photos of herself clicked in a bikini. Replying to P!nk's original tweet, users weighed in on the topic, with one writing: "I haven’t seen anything inappropriate. Is taking a picture of your child in a bikini inappropriate?!?" Another wrote: "I don't know who this is, but I post photos of my daughter in her bikini when we are at the lake. She is 9. What is this mom doing." To that, another chimed in saying, "I’m with you, I don’t know who this is either but my daughter has always worn a bikini and we have lots of photos of all of us in our bathing suits. I guess I don’t know what this mom did that’s so bad".

Some called out P!nk for allegedly exploiting her own daughter by featuring her on her music videos. Replying to P!nk, who recently released a song with her daughter Willow, the user accused: "Aren’t you exploiting tie your child is sing along music??? In your songs???? It’s called “parenting-passions”" Another however hit the middle ground, replying: "Admittedly some of those pics are a bit much for a young person (14) and I'm pretty open minded. But shaming won't fix it. The whole social media industry needs to change the way we look at young people and what we accept."
