Singer-songwriter Pink (also stylized as P!nk) is all set to be honored with the Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) which will be streamed live on NBC on  Sunday, May 23. The 41-year-old will also hit the BBMAs stage after a gap of five years to enthrall her fans with her hit singles like ‘Just Give Me a Reason’, ‘Raise Your Glass’ and ‘Cover Me in Sunshine’ among others.

The three-time BBMA winner is the 10th artist to receive the coveted award. The previous winners include Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Cher, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and Garth Brooks. Speaking about the same in an official statement, as reported by Billboard, she asserted, “As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a singer and sharing my love of music with the world” adding “Years later, to receive the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award is hard to fathom! I feel so honoured to join the ranks of music idols like Cher, Garth Brooks, Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder. It's a true 'pinch me' moment and I feel humbled and blessed.”

Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, was born in Pennsylvania, to emergency room nurse Judith ‘Judy’ Moore and insurance salesman James Jim Moore. Her parents got divorced when she was 10. Even though she was trained as a gymnast between the ages of 4 and 12, she also got interested in singing during the same time. Her career began in 1995. The couple later sold the upscale property in 2016 for $12.5million The 7,450-square-foot estate included the main house with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a guest house a lawn-surrounded swimming pool and spa, and a private pathway leading away from the property to the beach, as reported by LA Times.

 After selling her Malibu estate property, Pink later moved into a 200 plus acre ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley near Santa Barbara. Pink along with her hubby shelled out a cool $12 million in 2013 for the same. According to the website Closer Weekly, the ‘What About Us’ hitmaker’s swanky mansion flaunts eye-catching blue walls, guest bedrooms, an open-concept kitchen, various living rooms, entertainment areas for her two kids, and 18 acres of vineyards . Speaking about her Santa Barbara mansion, she earlier told Independent, “It looks like Dr. Seuss threw up,” as she joked about her vivid color choices, adding “All in all, this is the best that this property has looked since we got here. We’ve put a lot of heart and soul into this place.”



 

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will be hosted by Nick Jonas along with Kelly Clarkson. The renowned award ceremony will be held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will be streamed live on NBC at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
