‘Yellowstone’ Season 3 Episode 9: Is Walker a snitch or can Rip trust him, why did Laramie wink at him?
A secret can't be hidden for too long. When Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) pardoned Walker (Ryan Bingham), a former prisoner who was recruited by Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) to be a ranch hand at Yellowstone, it was clear that it would come back to bite his ass. In the previous episode, Rip and Lloyd Pierce (Forrie J Smith) discover that Walker is actually alive.
As ‘Meaner Than Evil’ begins, the two catch Walker unawares, kidnap him and take him back to the ranch. Once back there, Rip confronts him and asks him to prove himself. The bunkhouse is all set to seek revenge from Wade Morrow (Boots Southerland) and his son, Clint (Brent Walker), for trying to drown Colby (Denim Richards) and Teeter (Jennifer Landon). While they are plotting how to go about it, one person in the bunkhouse is pretty surprised to see Walker. Laramie (Hassie Harrison), the barrel race who plays the love interest of Lloyd, walks up to Walker and asks: "Where did you come from?" He retorts back, "Nowhere!" In quite a mysterious scene, she secretly smiles and winks at him. What does that gesture mean? What does she want from him?
Moreover, when Mia (Eden Brolin) is concerned about the bunkhouse and tells Laramie, "This place is losing its lustre to me," the latter replies, "I don't know. I think there may be a little lustre left." Do Laramie and Walker have a connection that no one knows about? Well, only time will tell.
As the episode comes to a close, Wade Morrow and Clint come on their horses, and the entire bunkhouse racers go behind them. As Wade is hung by a noose, Rip tells him that he is going to take something from him. "You don't deserve to wear this brand," he says and peels off his shirt. He then turns to Walker, "This is your last chance. You prove yourself. You turn your back on me now, I'm gonna take something from you too," and hands him the dagger. Before peeling off his skin, Walker tells Wade: "Mister, I don't know you but if you are wearing that brand, you must be a bad man. If these motherf*****s want it back, you must be worse. Karma comes in all shapes and sizes, I guess it looks like me today."
While Walker does what Rip asks of him, he is still a very questionable character. What's more, his past crimes make it harder to see him as an honest man. Once Lloyd and Walker dump the bodies, the latter asks why they were dumping it there. Lloyd then reveals that no one lives within a hundred miles and there's no sign of people or a Sherriff in that area. Walker is still worried and asks, "So how many people have you dumped out there?" Lloyd says everyone from three states around. He then gives Walker a piece of advice and says that the West was won with all the skeletons filled in that dump. "Now all you have to do is figure out how not to be one of them," he says.
Will Walker be loyal to the Duttons and the ranch? Many fans can't stop wondering if he is a snitch. One fan theory says: "Theory: Walker is working undercover for the Market Equities guy. Rip ends up going to prison for the hanging just after he marries Beth." Another viewer posted, "Getting kinda suspicious of Walker. Asks too many questions, beginning to think he’s a mole. #Yellowstone."

The future seems pretty dodgy and if he betrays them again, it's clear that the Duttons won't spare him. Well, as we wait for the last episode this season, it may give us some answers. Catch the season finale on Sunday, August 23, 2020, as it airs on Paramount Network.
