'Yellowstone' Season 3 Episode 7: Teeter and Colby and all the new relationships in the bunkhouse explained
Spoilers for 'Yellowstone' Season 3 Episode 7 'The Beating'
This season of 'Yellowstone' comes packed with a lot more romance than we have ever seen on the Paramount Network hit Western show. Usually known to display the complex relationships of a select few protagonists such as Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), this season, the show takes it slow, casual and easy with some new introductions.
As more and more couples are now sleeping in the bunkhouse, here is our little explainer in case you happened to have missed any information.
Jimmy and Mia
The first time that Jimmy (Jefferson White) and Mia (Eden Brolin) meet, the cowboy's world comes crashing down and that isn't only because he met and immediately fell head over heels for her. He fell off bucking a wild horse at the rodeo. Just before the life-threatening incident, Mia had asked him out and much to his surprise pecked him on the cheek. Completely distracted, Jimmy can barely focus on his job at hand (despite continuous warnings from Forrie J Smith's Lloyd Pierce) and eventually is knocked out cold on the ground.
While John Dutton (Kevin Costner) takes care of his bill, there is a surprise for him at the hospital. This close tryst with death is actually the turn of a new page in his life. He may have broken several bones in his body, but he still has a heart of gold. When Mia visits a very physically broken Jimmy in the hospital, they have sex — something that many in the audiences deemed rape because Jimmy didn't exactly consent to it.
When Jimmy returns to the bunkhouse, he is brought from the hospital by Mia and a friend of hers, Laramie (Hassie Harrison). The minute they get back home, a party is started in the bunkhouse. In the latest episode, the two accompany Rip to sell a horse resulting in a hilarious exchange between the extremely businesslike Rip and an electric Mia.
Lloyd and Laramie
If there is one relationship that has completely bowled fans over then it is that of this couple. Uniting under the most random of circumstances, both Lloyd and Laramie take an immediate liking towards one another. It happens on the very first night that she arrives in the bunkhouse and openly flirts with Lloyd. Although the massive age difference might be alarming for some, many fans of the show are rooting for the two even if it is going to last for a short while.
Colby and Teeter
The will-they-won't-they trope has arrived on 'Yellowstone'.
Colby (Denim Richards) doesn't exactly care about the newest entrant in the bunkhouse, Teeter (Jennifer Landon). Replacing Tanaya Betty's Avery after her departure in Season 2 as the only woman working as a ranch hand at the Dutton ranch, she is no less than the cowboys in the bunkhouse and is capable of doing things that even they can't (recall that fistfight with the bikers that she started?).
Literally no one on the ranch can understand anything she says. However, Colby somehow seems to know what she is saying. The two share some kind of a weird bond bordering on sexual chemistry with Teeter heavily flirting with Colby and almost making her feelings for him obvious and Colby just focusing on keeping his distance from her.
This flirting between them is not hidden from the rest of the cowboys, particularly Ryan (Ian Bohen), who not only immensely enjoys teasing Colby constantly with Teeter but is confident that the two will get together someday. At one time, when Colby sees Teeter dancing, swaying her hips and whatnots, he is spellbound and can hardly get anything sensible out of his mouth, to which Ryan only teases him.
In the latest episode, as Jimmy and Lloyd bid loving, adorable farewells to their girlfriends, the barrel racers, in the bunkhouse, Teeter rues that she would like to be tucked in bed in the same way, all the while sending yearning looks Colby's way. Ryan is watching all this and Colby turns to him and says that it isn't happening. "Oh, it is 100 per cent happening," Ryan tells him.
Is it though? We're more than happy to see the two get together.
'Yellowstone' airs on Sundays at 9 pm ET/PT on Paramount Network.
