Spoilers for 'Wynonna Earp' Season 4 Episode 5 'Holy War Part 1'

It's not 'Wynonna Earp' if Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano) is not being tempted by something she absolutely shouldn't be tempted by. Besides, possibly, the desire to shoot every Clanton right through the eyes with the Peacemaker in hand, there hasn't been much in the way of temptations for Wynonna to overcome — that is until she meets Amon (Noam Jenkins). Amon is not just devilishly dapper, he's a dangerous demon that Wynonna is already making eyes at, much to the concern of Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon).

Amon's flirtatious nature was one thing when he was making suggestive comments thrown Doc's way, but another thing entirely when you throw Wynonna into the mix. Wynonna's clearly into Amon, especially to Doc, who pulls Wynonna away from Amon before they can get too close. Wynonna and Doc may be on good terms but their on-again, off-again romantic involvement is still something that neither of them has properly resolved. As Doc points out in this episode, there is a lot that the two of them are avoiding talking about. The longer things go unsaid, the further the two will grow apart, guiding Wynonna to the first bad decision she can find — and the Glory Hole is always open.

Despite his charm or even because of it, Amon is a dangerous figure worth keeping an eye on. He has all the airs of someone who knows where the strings are and just how to pull them to get what he wants. This episode alone has proven just how close to the ground his ear is, with drunken, talkative demons wandering in and out of his bar at all hours. He's had 18 months to learn the ins and outs of Purgatory, in more welcoming circumstances than any of the Revenants got.

Another thing worth considering is this — Amon might be Eve, in disguise. We still don't know what happened to her after Doc kicked her through a portal in Eden and she's been shown to be able to shapeshift into anyone. Eve has also not been above taking on a seductive role in order to get what she wants. There are worse plans than driving a wedge between Doc and Wynonna with the Clantons after their hides, leaving Eve free and clear to complete her master plan — whatever that may be.

Amon may seem like a charming side-character, but there's likely a lot more to him than meet's the eye. He's someone to keep an eye on, although in Wynonna's case, the problem might lie in taking her eyes off of him.

The next episode of 'Wynonna Earp' airs on August 30 on Syfy.
