AMC finally shares 'The Vampire Lestat' release date and it's sooner than you think
AMC has finally announced a new season of 'Interview With the Vampire,' now titled 'The Vampire Lestat.' The series, which focuses on the complicated relationship between two vampires, Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt, will premiere on June 7. After Season 2's dramatic ending, the gothic horror series will feature Lestat in a new avatar as an 'immortal rockstar' in the show's third chapter, which was announced in June 2024.
Rolin Jones serves as showrunner and developed the series from Anne Rice's bestselling novel series, 'The Vampire Chronicles.' Season 3 is adapted from the second book 'The Vampire Lestat,' released in 1985.
The network gave fans another treat, releasing the single 'All Fall Down' from the upcoming season. The song, which serves as the Season 3 theme, is composed by Daniel Hart and performed by Sam Reid, who plays Lestat in the series.
Hart spoke about the meaning of the song with Deadline, "(It) marks a time in this vampire band’s life when they were still figuring out exactly what their sound was, and before Lestat himself started to change personas and explore other musical styles. At the same time, with 'All Fall Down,' we tried to capture the overall feeling of this new Lestat we get to know better and better throughout the season: more wild, more raw, more self-deprecatingly funny than ever before."
Also, AMC had dropped the rock single 'Long Face' on February 13 (a lyric video was released on YouTube in July 2024), and more songs from the titular vampire will drop in the coming months.
Lestat embodies his rockstar persona in Season 3 after author Daniel Molloy exposes the presence of vampires among humans. So, Lestat uses his freedom to go "on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by 'muses' from his wild and rebellious past. As his band's popularity and star power rise, so does Lestat's influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat's power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population," as per the official description for Season 3.
Reid stars alongside Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, Assad Zaman as Armand, Eric Bogosian as Daniel Moloy, and Delainey Hayles as Claudia in AMC's drama series. Season 3 will see new cast members, including Jennifer Ehle as Lestat's mother, Gabriella, and Damien Atkins as Magnus.
Ella Ballentine joins as Baby Jenks, Jeanine Serralles as Christine Claire, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marius, Ryan Kattner as Salamander, and Noah Reid as Larry. Moreover, Seamus Patterson and Sarah Swire will appear as Lestat's bandmates, as Alex and TC, respectively. Also, Sheila Atim has been cast as Akasha, the powerful vampire mother known as the Queen of the Damned.
Furthermore, Jones executive produces 'The Vampire Lestat' with Mark Johnson, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
