Anime fans are in for a treat, as the first preview of Episode 33, gives a new twist to the show. The Halloween special 'Treehouse of Horror XXXIII' is slated to be divided into three parts, comprising a parody of 'The Babadook' titled 'The Pookadook', a 'Westworld' parody titled 'Simpsonworld' and more interestingly, a 'Death Note' parody which will be called 'Death Tome'.

A clip making the rounds on the internet has left anime fans pleasantly surprised as they now eagerly await the episode which no longer features the art style of Matt Groening typical to 'The Simpsons'. Rather, the art style is surprisingly faithful to the original 'Death Note'. Comic Book reports that the clip being circulated made its debut through a FOX Station in Latin America.

Several screenshots are also being shared online, which finally answers the question - what would the Simpsons look like as anime characters? So far, we have a preview of Lisa, Marge, Homer, and Bart in their new anime avatar and fans are loving it. The full-blown parody has been animated by DR Movie, the same studio involved in the making of the original series. Meanwhile, several others are also speculating that 'Death Tome' might just turn out to be better than 2006's live-action 'Death Note'.

Netizens on Twitter are abuzz. "WTF did I just watch?!?" exclaimed one user, while another opined, "NGL, but Somehow Lisa Transition to Anime was Pretty good NGL." The reviews of the preview were mostly positive, with many eagerly awaiting the full segment. "So far so good, looking forward to the full thing," read one tweet.

"Oh this looks fantastic. If the whole episode is animated like this I’m 100% watching," affirmed an anime fan. "WHAT THE F**K They made it look exactly like the anime! Okay most interesting Treehouse of Horror segment in years," exclaimed one person. "Oh this looks incredible," chimed in another.

Nevertheless, if the first look of the episode is anything to go by, fans of the original anime are in for a treat. The regular fanbase of 'The Simpsons' will also get to see their favorite characters in a whole new avatar. 'Treehouse of Horror XXXIII' is slated to air on FOX stations at 8.00 pm EST on October 30. Viewers can also watch it on Hulu the following day.
