ROME, ITALY: Netflix's latest series, 'Ripley' has hooked the viewers with its edgy thrill and exciting climax. To the fans' surprise, the series might get another season, offering further insight into the life of Tom Ripley.
'Ripley', an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's 1955 crime novel 'The Talented Mr Ripley', made its debut on the streaming giant on April 4, 2024. It introduces Andrew Scott as the iconic fictional conman and serial killer, Tom Ripley.
The series is created by Steven Zaillian, who won an Academy Award for 'Schindler's List' (1993) and Oscar nominations for 'Awakenings', 'Gangs of New York', 'Moneyball' and 'The Irishman'.

What happens in 'Ripley' Season 1?
'Ripley' centers on con artist Tom Ripley, who is hired by a businessman to go to Italy and convince his son, Dickie Greenleaf to return home.
As Ripley meets Dickie Greenleaf, he is drawn to his luxurious and laid-back lifestyle. He ditches his assignment and pursues what Dickie has.
His desperate attempts turn him into a serial killer, who now has to evade authorities while continuing to live his dream life.
The official synopsis of 'Ripley' reads, "A grifter is drawn into a world of wealth and privilege after taking a unique job in Italy. But to seize the life he wants, he must build a web of lies."
