Will there be 'Griselda' Season 2? Here's the renewal status for Netflix's biographical crime-drama series
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Netflix has finally dropped the much-awaited crime drama series based on the Columbian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
The series, titled ‘Griselda’ has some splendid performances delivered by Sofia Vergara, Alberto Guerra, Martín Rodríguez, Vanessa Ferlito, and Juliana Aiden Martinez amongst many others.
‘Griselda’ delivered over and over again, with every scene and every episode, the plot thickened and despite the gore and gunshots, one simply couldn’t look away.
A series this riveting can raise one question repeatedly, will there be a ‘Griselda’ Season 2?
Has Netflix renewed ‘Griselda’ for Season 2?
As of now, there has been no news about a renewal when it comes to ‘Griselda.’
In addition to that news, Netflix has also repeatedly labeled ‘Griselda’ a “limited series,” which only means that the likeliness of another season is next to impossible. However, not entirely so.
Netflix has a reputation for axing and renewing series very often, so the possibility of ‘Griselda’ Season 2 might lurk around for a while, however, the series finale gave Griselda Blanco, as well as the other characters an ending that can’t really be explored further.
For example, Griselda’s lover Dario dies in the finale, along with three of her children, while her ultimate confidant, Rivi, is imprisoned.
Meanwhile, Griselda is left all alone, and the series takes a moment to acknowledge the death of the real Griselda Blanco, giving it a proper finish.
What avenues could be explored after ‘Griselda’?
If Netflix chooses to continue the legacy of the series, there could always be spin-offs about her one child, Michael, who survived. Or, it could showcase the life of Griselda after was out of prison, and before she was assassinated in 2012.
At the moment, there can only be speculations until Netflix shares any concrete news.
