The latest development for 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage', season 2, had a disappointing update about Sheldon. After the success of the iconic 'The Big Bang Theory', the network decided to expand the Coopers' story with 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage'. And with the Christmas special coming up, fans have been hoping to get a glimpse of the character.

However, the latest update comes off as a disappointing one. The synopsis of the episode titled 'Miami Beach and a Magical Family Christmas' and the promotional stills feature Baby Ceecee, the McAllisters, and even Missy. There is no sign of any of the major guest stars, making it unlikely that Sheldon will make an appearance.

Earlier, showrunner Steve Holland addressed the question surrounding Georgie and Mandy's divorce. When asked if he knew when the divorce would be, 'I don’t. I think it’s good. We know some things that are floating out there," he told Deadline.

"It’s not like how it was with Young Sheldon. We knew when George Sr. died. It was when Sheldon was 14 that he went to Caltech. We know some things that are going to happen in the story of Georgie, but we don’t know when. That gives us a lot of freedom to sort our way through and find a way to get those points in a way that will feel natural and surprising. The fact that you know it’s gonna happen is like a sword hanging over their relationship. You don’t know when, but you know at some point it’s gonna drop."

On his part, Jim Parsons, who is expected to appear at some point on the show, also addressed the possibility of a 'The Big Bang Theory' reboot and his return. "It was very special to do that," he reflected on his time on the show. "The feeling today is kind of odd. It’s the second time now because when we ended The Big Bang Theory, it felt like this too, a little bit different, but you shoot that final episode, and it’s wrapped for you. And then a couple of months later, it wraps for the rest of the world, and it’s a very weird feeling to flood over you again like that."

For now, the wait continues as fans hope that Parsons or Iain Armitage will make a cameo on the show. But for now, it's a wait-and-watch.

'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage', season 2 airs Thursdays weekly on CBS.
