‘Avengers: Doomsday’ teaser trailer may drop just in time for ‘Avatar 3’ and we couldn’t be more thrilled
The much-awaited teaser trailer of 'Avengers: Doomsday' is expected to arrive this week, and the buzz is around the clip's runtime. Per multiple reports, the official teaser is expected to run for 1 minute and 25 seconds — a longer end for a traditional teaser. At the time of writing, reports suggest that the piece of content might release alongside James Cameron's 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' on December 19, 2025.
Some reports have added that the clip might even be released a day early. It's safe to speculate this might be a possibility, considering Marvel Studios will be keen to generate more eyeballs even as Cameron's behemoth remains on track for a 19th release. For now, 'Doomsday's first look is likely to debut alongside 'Fire and Ash' — considered to be one of the major blockbusters this year, and setting the tone for an impressive 2026 roster.
Very little is known about 'Doomsday's plot. What is known is the list of actors set to reprise their roles. Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America; Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, and also the cast of “Thunderbolts*” and “Fantastic 4: First Steps” along with the return if 'X-Men' with Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier and Ian McKellen as Magneto are all slated to appear.
Also appearing as Shang-Chi will be Simu Liu, who teased what was in store for fans. "I mean, there are just so many actors in it, and getting to work with those people as peers is really incredible because I grew up watching so many of them," he told ScreenRant. And I think there’s something really fun about that," he said.
Liu also added how the film would resonate for all "the misfits, weirdos, and the underdogs" who grew up reading comics. "It made them feel like there was hope for them somehow – that it didn’t matter if they didn’t fit in – I think there’s just always a special place in my heart for that entire genre," he said. 'Doomsday' was initially expected to be released on May 1, 2026, but was delayed to December. 18, 2026. The sequel, 'Avengers: Secret Wars', was also pushed to December 17, 2027, after originally being slated to release on May 7, 2027.
'Avengers: Doomsday' releases in theaters on December 18, 2026.
