'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' was released in theaters on April 1 and showcased a range of colorful characters from the 'Mario' video games and other Nintendo titles. A sequel to 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' released in 2023, it treats viewers to two integral scenes. The first post-credits scene shows Dry Bowser and Bowser Jr. heading for prison, and the one that appears at the very end features Princess Daisy and other characters, setting up potential spin-offs. Below is a list of the video game characters who make cameos in 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.'

Princess Daisy and Fox McCloud

After witnessing Mario and Peach's romance in the movie, Luigi wishes for a princess for himself. Princess Daisy makes her debut in the film as Luigi’s potential love interest and is seen stopping a thief in the Gateway Galaxy. Princess Peach’s royal counterpart, she is the ruler of Sarasaland and is distinguished by her brown hair and yellow dress. Fox McCloud, the space pilot and leader of the 'Star Fox' team, is voiced by the Top Gun: Maverick actor, Glen Powell, in the sequel film. He runs into Mario and his group at a spaceport and flies the Mushroom Kingdom crew on his Arwing ship. He is seen with a Toad in the first credits scene as he takes Bowser and Bowser Jr. to prison. Furthermore, Fox gets more screentime with his backstory being highlighted through an anime sequence featuring Slippy Toad, Falco Lombardi, and Peppy Hare.

Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B.

Luigi creates the 2D character Mr. Game & Watch for a few seconds using Bowser Jr.'s magical paintbrush during the final battle. The character fights using similar moves seen in 'Super Smash Bros.,' adding a nostalgic touch to the film. Moreover, Ed Skudder voices the cream-colored R.O.B., or the Robotic Operating Buddy, with its signature red arms and green LED eyes. The character serves as the guide and information desk agent at the Gateway Galaxy, managing space travel information for guests.

Pikmin and Ninji

The plant-like alien creatures called Pikmin show up during the 'Smash Bros.' fighter Captain Olimar's battles. They prove to be useful in combat due to their elemental abilities like fire, poison, and electricity. Olimar’s ship, the S.S. Dolphin, is filled with multi-colored Pikmin. Ninjis are small, black, star-shaped enemies that attack Peach in the film's casino sequence. Known for jumping in place and lurking in dark corners, they were seen in the early 'Mario' games and recently became a playable character in 'Mario Golf: Super Rush' and 'Super Mario Party Jamboree.'

Donkey Kong, Dry Bowser, and Birdo

The powerful gorilla was voiced by Seth Rogen in the first 'Super Mario Bros. Movie,' and appears in the sequel for a split second when Yoshi travels through Brooklyn. The film's antagonist, Bowser, drowns in a sea of lava at the end of the film and emerges as Dry Bowser: an undead, skeletal version of himself. His look resembles Dry Bones, who has appeared in the 'New Super Mario Bros.,' and 'Mario Kart' games, among others. Birdo, the pink, bow-wearing dinosaur, is Yoshi’s counterpart and is an antagonist in 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.' She is a minion of King Wart and is seen fighting Princess Peach by shooting projectile eggs from her snout.

The baby versions of Mario and Luigi appear on screen when Bowser Jr. zaps the brothers using a Super Scope weapon to turn them into babies. They are seen on a planet alongside a T. rex and are saved by Yoshi. Baby Peach, on the other hand, appears in a flashback scene involving the princess's origins, with the movie revealing that Peach is Rosalina's sister.
