After winning the Academy Award for Best Actor in recognition of his role in 'Sinners', actor Michael B. Jordan is back with a Netflix animated film. Titled 'Swapped', the animated buddy-comedy adventure follows two jungle creatures who start as enemies but soon help each other in overcoming the odds. Jordan voices the small woodland creature of Ollie, whereas Juno Temple, of 'Ted Lasso' fame, has voiced the character of Ivy, a soaring bird who always has her eyes set on Ollie, until one surprising day when they magically swap bodies.

In addition to releasing the trailer for the upcoming animated movie, Netflix also packed an adorable surprise for the world. In the clip, which has since been making rounds, Jordan's nephew and niece appear before the trailer begins. Jordan then introduces the trailer and animated movie, with a cute rejoinder from his niece and nephew. The introduction effectively set the tone of 'Swapped' as a children's movie to look forward to. Nathan Greno, of 'Tangled' fame, has directed 'Swapped,' a joint production between Skydance Animation and Netflix. The film is based on a story written by Adam Karp, Christian Magalhaes, Robert Snow, Nathan Greno, and John Whittington. The screenplay was penned by Whittington, Snow, and Christian Magalhaes. The voice cast also includes Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer.

'Swapped' is produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews, and John Lasseter. The official synopsis of the upcoming animated movie reads, "A buddy comedy about a small woodland creature (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a majestic bird (voiced by Juno Temple)—natural sworn enemies of The Valley—who suddenly swap bodies and must team up (while walking in each other’s feathers and fur) to survive the wildest adventure of their lives." The trailer kicks off with the usual camaraderie between Ollie and Ivy, as the latter tries to make a meal out of the former day in and day out. Until one day, a daring attempt to scoop up Ollie goes south for Ivy, and the two of them tumble down to fall into a strange purple flower pod.

As a direct consequence, Ollie and Ivy end up swapping bodies, along with exchanging the powers and the pitfalls that come with them. Once they get the hang of their respective bodies, they are called upon by the other creatures of the jungle to rise to the occasion. In light of the resounding success of another of Netflix's recently released animated movies, i.e., 'Kpop Demon Hunters', it is easy to compare 'Swapped' with the box office juggernaut. Although it might not find the same massive audience as the former, 'Swapped' is nevertheless an entertaining watch and arrives on Netflix on May 1.
