Marvel faithful will have a chance to watch 'Avengers: Endgame' on the big screen once again. Leading up to the December 2026 release of 'Avengers: Doomsday', the studios will rerelease the epic feature that took the world by storm in 2019.

The iconic 'Avengers' feature will now be released again on Sept. 25, 2026. At the time of writing, there is no concrete news on how long the run would be. 'Doomsday' is being helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed 'Endgame', and also marks the return of Robert Downey Jr., who played Tony Stark/Iron Man earlier. In 'Doomsday', he will return as Doctor Doom.

The reason behind the move has been doing the rounds, with most fans believing it's the perfect way to hype 'Doomsday', and also provide a quick primer for fans about the last 'Avengers' film. The other move is to bring the beloved movie to the big screen as a way to honor some of the Marvel actors not in the upcoming ensemble flick. Endgame was the second part of an epic film involving Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the culmination of Marvel’s Phase Three of its movie slate.

At the time of writing, much about 'Doomsday's plot is kept under wraps. According to Variety, the following actors are expected to reprise their roles — Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America; Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, and also the cast of “Thunderbolts*” and “Fantastic 4: First Steps” along with the return if 'X-Men' with Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier and Ian McKellen as Magneto.

Earlier, Chris Evans, who played Steve Rogers/Captain America in the previous films, weighed in on missing out on 'Doomsday'. "Yeah, I talk to them all the time,” Evans told ScreenRant. “It’s where Pedro [Pascal] is right now. I mean, it’s sad to be away. It’s sad to not be back with the band, but I’m sure they’re doing something incredible, and I’m sure it’s going to be that much harder when it comes out, and you feel like you weren’t invited to the party."

In related news, 'Doomsday' was initially set to release on May 1, 2026, but was delayed to Dec. 18, 2026. The sequel, 'Avengers: Secret Wars' was also pushed to December 17, 2027, after originally being slated for release on May 7, 2027.
