'Mom': Why is Season 8 Episode 7 not airing this week? Here's the Adam-Bonnie drama to expect when show returns
Sorry folks, no 'Mom' today. The series is on another two-week break and will return on February 11, CBS at 9 pm. The network hasn't issued a statement as yet on why the break is taking place.
Nevertheless, there's much to look forward to, as the upcoming episode sounds fun.
Adam (William Fichtner) and Bonnie (Allison Janney) have made a cutesy pair on the CBS show 'Mom', and according to the showrunners, they will be going from strength to strength in Season 8. Bonnie has realized that she cares more for Adam than she lets on, as revealed in Episode 5, when he went skiing, and she was terrified something might happen to him. Her ex visited her dreams and the two had a soulful discussion on her relationship with Adam and that she really loves him.
The next episode is an Adam-Bonnie one, as the synopsis reads. According to the synopsis, "Bonnie is upset when Adam makes a big-ticket purchase without consulting her; Jill has an unexpected reaction when her dentist retires."
In the previous episode, Jill (Jaime Pressley) goes to extraordinary lengths to get Andy back. Several episodes ago, we saw Jill and Andy take a break, as they were not able to overcome the differences in their relationship. Jill had been heartbroken about the split and was determined to get him back at any cost.
Episode 5 was a meaningful one for the fans, as it saw the return of Bonnie's ex, Alvin (Kevin Pollak). Bonnie was worried about Adam's safety when he goes skiing, as she remembered his earlier accident. She has a fretful sleep, and so, she is visited by Alvin, from the Great Beyond. For all those who need a quick reminder, Alvin re-entered her life in Season 1, just after Christy (Anna Faris) confronted her father. Alvin and Bonnie patched up soon, but their happiness was short-lived, as he suffered a massive heart attack and died in a heartbreaking Season 2 episode.
Season 8 has been the standout installment for the CBS show, as it does not feature Anna Faris's Christy. There is much speculation that the show might be canceled altogether, and the ratings have dipped slightly since Season 7. However, CBS hasn't said anything as yet, so we can still believe there's a chance for Season 9. Plus, Allison Janney is a one-woman show on her own, anyway.
'Mom' airs on Thursdays, CBS at 9pm.
