'Mom' is on another break and will return next week, sorry folks. Nevertheless, it promises to be another fun-filled episode too. Adam (William Fichtner) is off for skiing and Bonnie (Allison Janney) is anything but excited because she remembers his accident. Meanwhile, Tammy is worried about Jill's (Jaime Pressley) method of mentoring children. Season 8 has seen Bonnie and Adam growing closer as a couple.

The synopsis reads, "Bonnie is concerned about Adam's safety when he decides to go skiing for the first time since his accident; Tammy worries that Jill is sending the wrong message to the young girls they're mentoring."

In the previous episode, we saw the return of Chef Rudy (French Stewart) and his faithful assistant, Paul (Reggie DeLeon). The cooking duo had lost their jobs at the Rustic Fig, but their optimism isn't dampened and they're sure as hell not going to let a career-breaker like that bring them down. The two are out in the wild, bringing their high-class cooking to the van-trailer experience, with their new van idea, "Coq Au Van" and Tammy (Kristen Johnston) is there to help them out. It wasn't quite a cakewalk, bringing classic French cuisine to roller derby fans because Rudy's high standards for food aren't quite appreciated by people who just want a quick meal. However, Tammy decides to save the day and help the duo out to keep their customers happy and speed up the cooking process.

Season 8 began without the familiar presence of Anna Faris's Christy. Faris announced that she was leaving the show, and moving to greener pastures. On the show, Christy leaves for law school, which was a fitting end to the character's arc.

'Mom' co-creator Gemma Baker previously told TVLine that Faris’s departure would not take away from Christy’s happy ending. “One of the beautiful things about recovery is that quite often people’s lives get bigger and better than they could have imagined,” she said. “And that will be Christy’s experience. We are pretty sure that our audience, many of whom have been rooting for Christy since the pilot, will be happy for her and satisfied by her new path.”

'Mom' will return on December 17 on CBS at 9 pm, right after 'Young Sheldon'.
