Amazon’s ‘The Wheel of Time’ turned out to be a huge hit for the streaming giant and broke several records. The sci-fi fantasy series premiered on Amazon Prime Video in November 2021 and was based on the novel of the same name by Robert Jordan.

The show revolves around a woman called Morraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike), a member of the powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai. The woman embarks on a journey to find five men and women who might turn out to be the saviors of the world. On the other hand, one of them is the reincarnation of the Dragon reborn that would unite the world.

The show met with tremendous response and quickly became one of the most-watched series of 2021. It was also among the most watched Prime Video premieres on record, with 1.16 billion minutes of watch time, per Nielsen. The announcement of Season 2 was made before the premiere and it was reported that the filming had even started before the series premiered its first episode on the streaming service.

So, there were a lot of reports that Season 2 of ‘The Wheel of Time’ will be coming out in February 2022, but we are sorry to be the bearer of the bad news and can confirm that the show won’t be returning later this month.

When will ‘The Wheel of Time’ Season 2 release on Amazon Prime Video?

According to the Amazon Studios press site, Season 2 of ‘The Wheel of Time’ is not included in the list of shows premiering on Prime Video. ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ and ‘LOV3’ are the only two original series from Amazon that will be making its way to the platform. Apart from them, the other shows that will premiere in February are stand-up comedy shows.

As of now, ‘The Wheel of Time’ Season 2 is not listed on Amazon’s press site and the only two big releases it shows are ‘The Boys’ (June 3) and ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ (September 2). Now, it’s unclear how much fans would have to wait for Season 2 to arrive on Prime Video. The filming is on-going and then post-production will also take some time. We are hoping that the series arrives the second half of the year, but it’s possible, that we might see the fantasy series arriving in 2023.

Season 1 of ‘The Wheel of Time’ is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
