The first three episodes of Amazon’s latest fantasy show ‘The Wheel of Time’ laid the perfect foundation for the epic things to come. The series started on a high and the three-episode premiere gave viewers a lot to cherish for.

The three-hour premiere event on Amazon Prime Video saw people getting attacked by an army of Trollocs sent by the Dark One. However, Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and Lan Mandragoran save people in an epic battle sequence. Elsewhere, the supposed chosen ones and Moiraine embark on a journey as she feels that one of them is the Dragon Reborn. Their journey comes to a halt when everyone gets separated after a dark entity attacked them at night.

'The Wheel of Time' Premier Review: This exciting echo of GOT is worth watching

Now, Moiraine has reached her sisters where she is told that they have captured a man named Logain (Alvaro Morte) who claims to be the Dragon Reborn. In the fourth episode, we see Logain being captured by the Aes Sedais as they watch him. He keeps his eyes closed as everyone waits for him to give them proof if he is really the Dragon Reborn. Moiraine believes that he is lying while others believe that he does have some traits of being one.

Logain’s followers or army attack their camp to free their master and everyone in the Aes Sedai camp. On the other hand, Logain finally opens his eyes and attacks two of the Aes Sedai sister, Liandrin and Kerene, with his powers. To everyone’s shock, he melts the cage he is in, making everyone believe that he might be the Dragon Reborn. Moiraine confronts Logain and asks why she should believe that he is the dragon reborn. To which, he replies that he hears sounds and he can hear the previous dragons as they tell him to be better. Moiraine says that these voices are the voices of your madness.

Liandrin gets up as she and Moiraine attack Logain. They managed to capture him for a while but one of the men tried killing Logain with the help of his axes. He failed to do so and Logain got a pathway to channel his powers. He broke the cage that Aes Sedai made with their powers and everyone gets hurt in the process. Mandragoran gets his throat slit while Moiraine is also hit by a weapon.

However, Liandrin gets up and uses her full power to restrain Logain, but all Aes Sedai had to come together to take down Logain as they take out all the black power he possessed inside him. The episode ends with Logain getting to know that he is not the Dragon Reborn.

But one thing’s for sure, his character is interesting and should be explored further.

‘The Wheel of Time’ returns to Amazon Prime Video with a new episode every Friday.
