Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series ‘The Wheel of Time’ exceeded all the expectations and turned out to be one of the best fantasy shows in recent times. The finale of Season 1 just aired yesterday and the ending has made everyone believe that we surely are getting another season of the Rosamund Pike-starrer.

In the end of Season 1, we got to know that Rand’al (Josha Stradowski) is indeed the Dragon Reborn and he came face to face with the Dark One. With the help of Moiraine (Pike), he was able to defeat the Dark One. Meanwhile, Egwene (Madeleine Madden), Perrin (Marcus Rutherford), and Nynaeve (Zoe Robins) fight the army of Trollocs that attacked the kingdom of Malkier.

The show ended with Rand leaving everyone and telling Moiraine that she should tell everyone that he died during the battle. In the show’s final moments, we saw big ships emerging and a few women channel to use the ocean water as a weapon.

When does ‘The Wheel of Time’ Season 2 release and where can you watch it

Season 2 of the fantasy series hasn’t been announced yet, but after watching the record the show has made in terms of viewership, Amazon will surely come out with another edition. So, if it is announced, the show will once again be premiering on Amazon Prime Video.

What is ‘The Wheel of Time’ all about?

The official synopsis reads, “Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.”

Who stars in Amazon’s fantasy series?

Rosamund Pike plays the role of Moiraine Damodred while Daniel Henney portrays the character of Lan Mondragoran. On the other hand, Josha Stradowski plays Rand’al, aka Dragon Reborn.

The British actress is one of the finest stars in the world right now and has given several award-worthy performances. The star made her acting debut in 1998 with the TV series ‘A Rather English Christmas’. On the other hand, she made her feature film debut with the James Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’ alongside Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry. However, she received worldwide recognition with ‘Gone Girl’ and also received a Best Actress nomination at the Academy Awards.

‘Beirut, ‘The Informer’, ‘I Care A Lot’ and ‘State of the Union’ are some of the high-end ventures she has worked on.

Other actors to feature on the show include Daniel Henney as Lan, Madeleine Madden as Egwene, Zoe Robins as Nynaeve, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin and Barney Harris as Mat. 

Showrunners

The show has been developed for Amazon Prime Video by Rafe Judkins. Apart from Judkins, notable personalities such as Larry Mondragoran, Rick Selvage, Mike Weber, Ted Field, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe, and Uta Briesewitz serve as executive producers.
