LONDON, ENGLAND: 'Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story' is a fictional prequel series set in the same universe as the 'Bridgerton' series by Julia Quinn. While Queen Charlotte and some of her children are mentioned in both series, the prequel primarily focuses on the young Queen Charlotte and her experiences in the royal court. In 'Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story', Queen Charlotte's children are not major characters and do not play a significant role in the plot.

The show portrays various instances of the relationship between Queen Charlotte and her children. When the only heir to the throne dies, Queen Charlotte becomes furious to get a legitimate heir through one of her children. She refers to her children as ‘virgins and whores,’ stating that her daughters be virgins and her sons are the whores. The entire series unfolds her struggle with her children for marrying and settling down, producing a grandchild to continue the King’s lineage.

Throughout the original 'Bridgerton' series, Queen Charlotte plays a significant role in the lives of the main characters, particularly the Bridgerton family. She is portrayed as a loyal friend and mentor to Lady Danbury, and she takes a particular interest in the romantic lives of the Bridgerton siblings. Queen Charlotte is a well-loved character by fans of the series for her sharp wit, colorful personality, and powerful presence. She is a powerful and influential figure in London's high society. She is known for her wit, charm, and eccentricities, such as her love for pugs and her tendency to speak her mind. She is also a patron of the arts and a supporter of women's rights.
