She fondly reflected on the cherished memories she shared with her dad in her latest Instagram Story which featured a sweet snap of her daughter Ocean. "Today marks 6 years since the passing of my dad. I can't help but look at the many blessings, that have come to me since his passing," she wrote in her Instagram Story.
Lala shared her heartfelt gratitude with her father, expressing love and longing. She acknowledged his absence, emphasizing how deeply he is missed. Moreover, she mentioned that her daughter Ocean, whom she shares with her ex Randall Emmett, is aware of her grandfather.
The Bravo star went on to say, "Thank you, dad. We love you and we miss you terribly & yes, Ocean knows exactly who you are."

During a conversation with Bravo, Lala revealed that her father's passing was a result of both a stroke and a car accident. However, she also mentioned that it was her then-fiancé, Randall Emmett, who informed her about the tragic incident.
Contrary to initial assumptions, Lala's father did not die in the actual crash itself. Instead, he was admitted to the hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident and tragically died a month later.
Following her father's death Lala announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram. Later, she posted a video showing a joyous moment between her and her father, as they played around with a Snapchat filter while behind the wheel.
"Rest in paradise, my sweet dad. The world seems to be spinning much slower. I've never felt so lost. I’ve never felt so sad. My world has crumbled," she penned in 2018.

During a panel discussion at BravoCon in New York City, the reality TV personality from 'Vanderpump Rules' candidly shared her experiences of reaching the significant milestone of one year of sobriety. She revealed that her struggle with excessive drinking began to intensify following the death of her father.
While talking about losing her dad, Lala said, "My world completely shattered in front of me. I went back to filming two and a half weeks later. I went to bed with a bottle next to me and woke up with a bottle of warm champagne to chug next to me. It was my medicine.”
Lala explained that she needed to become sober to comprehend the passing of her father. She emphasized that this process of sobriety allowed her to fully come to terms with her grief and emotions surrounding his death.
“When I decided I never wanted to live that way again, and I wanted to get sober, I got to process the death of my dad in the most beautiful way ever,” she added.
Lala added, “Yes, it was hard to do it on camera, but it was also amazing. [Fans] would reach out to me about [my] sobriety or about how [I] grieved. So the fact that I had that platform, I think, was truly a gift.”

She added, "My mama lives with me now. She picked up her entire life from Utah, moved it to L.A., and she helps me raise Ocean. My brother Easton felt a little bit left behind and he actually moved into the same complex."
"That's why when people are like, 'Are you dating?' I'm like ... that feels like it would f-ck up this dynamic that we got going on," she continued.
