'Below Deck Down Under' star Aesha Scott 'heartbroken' over brother Reuben's death due to brain tumor
CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA: 'Below Deck Down Under' Season 2 star Aesha Scott had a brother named Reuben Scott. Reuben died at the age of 24 from Glioblastoma, a tumor that affects the brain.
Reuben was a carpenter in the army. He even bought a house with his soon-to-be wife before dying.
Aesha was triggered and recaled her brother's death as of of the primary charter guests' friends had a seizure on the deck.
The chief stew confesses, "It just really triggers me and hits home to me in that moment." She added, "Because my brother passed away from a brain tumor when he was 24."
She went on to explain the tumor, "Two golf-sized tumors in his head and he was having seizures."
Being emotional in one confessional interview, Aesha said, "I think about him all the time and if I really focus on it, it does make me quite upset."
Aesha Scott became ambassador of POMF to honor her dead brother Reuben Scott
Aesha shared photos of her wearing "Peace of Mind" t-shirt, saying, "I am so excited and proud to announce my role as a Peace of Mind Foundation Ambassador."
Explaining to the fans what POMF is, she wrote, "POMF is Australia’s largest nationwide brain cancer support charity. Their vision is to ensure every family in Australia impacted by brain cancer can get the support they need!"
Uploading a picture of Reuben and his soon-to-be wife, she added, "As you all know, my brother Reuben passed away way too young from brain cancer. The next photo is a picture of him happy with his soon-to-be-wife. He’d just bought his first house, was a carpenter in the army, was getting into Rock’n’Roll dancing, and was so excited for the future!"
She then explained her feelings, "It makes me sick and heartbroken when I sit and think about being told you have brain cancer. To face that news with so much ahead of you."
She then added, "The journey you and your family have to go on is intense and scary. Often your loved ones have to stop working to care for you and you are all on an emotional rollercoaster."
Explaining what POMF offers, she wrote "POMF offers financial assistance, counseling, retreats, and access to a community-based brain cancer support nurse with house visits. They will be there every step of the way to help you navigate your way through a scary time."
Asking fans for help, "If you’d like to help me in making a difference in the lives of people with brain cancer please" Aesha asked for help towards the end.

Born in 1993, Aesha is a Tauranga, New Zealand native. Aesha has four brothers and a sister.
Talking about her siblings, Stuff reports Aesha saying, "All of us siblings kind of took on a different role, and mine was the clown. I didn’t like mum feeling awkward or the tension, so I just played aloof and silly, and I just wanted everyone around to smile and be happy."
What will 'Below Deck Down Under' Season 2 Episode 14 be about?
Aesha will be seen being triggered as one of the guests' gets a seizure on the deck. Thankfully the guest who required the medical emergency was immediately rushed to the hospital after being given the first aid.
The synopsis of Episode 14 states, "The crew springs into action when one of the charter guests suffers a seizure on board the ship, and the event reminds Aesha Scott of a traumatic moment in her past. Then, once the guest recovers and departs for the hospital, the crew tries to bring the energy of the party back up."
