'Pitch Perfect' actress and comedian Rebel Wilson was the latest to take home an impressive prize money on Sunday, the January 3 episode of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

The quiz-based reality show returned after its winter hiatus and saw Wilson on the hot seat as she continued the game from where she had left off previously. With the help of her "smart friend" Jacob and all the knowledge she had gathered through news during the pandemic-induced quarantine, the actress successfully raised $250,000 to donate to The School of St Jude in Tanzania.

Even though Wilson faced a slight hiccup with the question for $250,000, she tempted fate and got the answer right. The question read, "When the US mint was established in 1792, legend has it that the first coins produced were made from what?". And, the options included, "Alexander Hamilton's Gold inkwell", "Ben Franklin's pewter beer steins", "Martha Washington's silverware" and "Thomas Jefferson's copper sink".

At first, Wilson admits that she didn't go to school in America and wasn't sure of the timeline of presidents. By the time she reached the $250,000 question, the actress had exhausted all her lifelines and went with her gut. Still, she offered the right answer.

However, she chose to quit the game after the question for $500,000, in which she was asked, "Out of fifteen tallest buildings in the world, more than half are in what country?" and the options included, "Saudi Arabia", "China", "United Arab Emirates" and "Malaysia". Although Wilson was inclined towards option C, she chose to quit the game as she didn't want to lose the $250,000 towards her charity.

During her participation in the show, she shared that she has already made a few donations towards the school in Tanzania, which has provided the children with buses and secondary camps.

And, when she was unsure of her answer to the $250,000 question, the actress told Kimmel that she could be personally donating from her own hands to make up for the prize money if she lost the round as she didn't want to deprive the school of funds. After her exit, television star Amanda Peet took the hot seat to win a million-dollar for her charity 'Big Sunday'.

'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' airs on Sundays on ABC at 9 pm ET.
