‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’: Why did Karamo Brown quit after winning $125,000? Fans praise 'smart choice'
Karamo Brown did try his best to win the $1 million prize on the latest Januaury 17 episode of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’. The ‘Queer Eye’ star resumed the game from the $8,000 question, where he had stopped in the previous segment. However, despite an impressive performance, Brown quit the game after the $125,000 question.
The reality TV star was raising funds for the Hollywood Food Coalition. During the game, Brown revealed that he volunteers at the NGO to cook food for the homeless and seemed determined about making the big prize his to feed many more mouths.
Before winning the grand prize of $125,000, Brown had his share of struggles cracking the previous questions, especially the ones surrounding sports and one on Netflix hit crime thriller ‘The Irishman’.
Brown lay so much trust in his friend and castmate Bobby Berk that he chose to drop “Ask your host” option for Bobby. But, for the $64,000, Brown had no choice to call one of his English friends, who turned out to be the contestant’s only saving grace.
The question read, “Which of these common British terms means ‘tired’ and not ‘drunk’? The options included “Trolleyed”, “Knackered” “Rat-arsed” and “Cabbaged”. Brown made it to the question by choosing option B, with the help of his Brit friend who was familiar with the slangs.
However, on arriving at the next question, Brown was faced with a hiccup and tempted fate as he wasn’t aware of the Netflix film ‘The Irishman’, despite spending the majority of his time binge-watching shows and movies on the streaming site.
The question read “Martin Scorsese’s organized crime drama ‘The Irishman’ is based on a book with what unusual title? And its options included “Ice Fishing is Easy”, “Can You Unclog a Drain”, I Heard You Paint Houses” and “Don’t Forget My Sandwich”. With the help of the 50/50 option and Berk’s guidance, Brown manages to get the right answer “I Heard You Paint Houses” and makes it to the $250,000 question.
Brown’s game comes to an end with the next question on the name of a South American country derived from an indigenous language. Unsure of the answer and unwilling to risk the $125,000 he had previously won, Brown leaves the game.
Many on social media have praised the celebrity contestant for his smart choice with the last question, his powerful performance and endless entertainment. One tweeted, "@Karamo is walking away with $125,000 for his charity! SMART CHOICE! @MillionaireTV #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire."
Another added, "@Karamo my mom is watching you on Who Wants to be a millionaire and she's now a fan! First thing I told her "OMG that's Karamo he's adorable!" She agrees!" One tweeted, "@Karamo is walking away with $125K he played good too #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire"
