'Darkness of Man' revolves around a former Interpol operative thrust into a dangerous turf war

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Darkness of Man' is set to be available on Video on Demand starting Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The action-packed film features Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead role as Interpol operative Russell Hatch.

'Darkness of Man' is directed by James Cullen Bressack, who has also written the script for the film. The film is distributed by Saban Films, which acquired the rights in February 2023.

The central plot of the film is about Russell Hatch trying to protect Jayden (Emerson Min), whom he considers a father figure.

Jayden finds himself in the crosshairs of a brutal turf war between the Russian and Korean mafia fighting for territory in Los Angeles to run their drug business.

Jean-Claude Van Damme as Russell Hatch

The Belgian martial artist and actor is an icon in action filmmaking. Jean-Claude Van Damme grew up in Brussels, honing his skills in martial arts, before making his mark in the United States as an actor.

He achieved success with action flicks like 'Bloodsport', 'Kickboxer', 'Lionheart', and 'Double Impact', among other films, before experiencing a period where his projects didn't fare as well.

He made a triumphant return to the spotlight as a villain in his role as Jean Vilain in 'The Expendables 2', starring opposite Sylvester Stallone.

Emerson Min as Jayden

Emerson Min plays the role of Jayden in this movie. As a young actor, he has shown remarkable talent in the few roles he's had. Working alongside a legend like Jean-Claude Van Damme is a significant opportunity for him.

He rose to fame playing the character of Mason in Netflix's 'Black-ish'. Additionally, he portrayed Benjamin Lee in 'A Great Divide' and Marcus in 'Always Be My Maybe'.

His other credits include 'Adam Ruins Everything', 'The Mysterious Benedict Society', and 'Speechless' where he appeared in character roles.

Kristanna Loken as Claire 

Kristanna Loken, an American model and actress, gained widespread recognition for her portrayal in 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines'. She also took on the role of Adriana Stabilito in the TV series 'Lethal Weapon'.

In 'Darkness of Man', she plays the role of Claire who is Russell Hatch's love interest. 

Peter Jae as Dae Hyun

Actor Peter Jae takes on the pivotal role of Dae Hyun in 'Darkness of Man'. His previous credits include the role of Ting in the acclaimed series 'Bosch'

In 'Darkness of Man', he portrays an antagonistic character deeply enmeshed in the drug trade, influencing Jayden toward bad habits.

Ji Yong Lee as Mr Kim

Ji Yong Lee plays the role of Mr Kim who is Jayden's grandfather, whose shop being attacked serves as a pivotal plot point in the film, drawing Russell into the escalating turf war.

Sticky Fingaz as Yates

The renowned rapper and actor Sticky Fingaz plays the role of Yates in this 'Darkness of Man', serving as Russell's superior in the film. Sticky Fingaz is popular for being a part of the music group Onyx.

Chika Kanamoto as Esther
