Who pays for restoration in 'Who’s Afraid of a Cheap Old House'? HGTV hosts to reimagine dreamy homes
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: HGTV's 'Who's Afraid of a Cheap Old House?' hosts Ethan and Elizabeth Finkelstein to reimagine old homes into stunning abodes while preserving their historic and unique features. In the HGTV show, the buyers of the houses are expected to pay for the restoration.
Elizabeth alongside her budget-conscious historic build expert husband Ethan would appeal to bargain hunters who dream of owning a classic home affordably priced at under $150,000. The houses will have features including antique fireplaces, original wood floors, leaded glass windows, vintage appliances and inviting front porches.
Elizabeth has shared with HGTV that saving the houses wasn't for 'the faint of heart, but it’s worth it.' The HGTV show host explained, "Our cheap old house movement caught fire on social media. Now, we're taking buyers house hunting so they can buy and restore a cheap old house of their own."

Ethan and Elizabeth Finkelstein to guide buyers
HGTV show hosts Ethan and Elizabeth Finkelstein will help and guide potential buyers in finding the perfect abode. The couple will also help homebuyers navigate through the emotional highs and lows of not only purchasing but also preserving real estate steals.
After the buyers choose their ideal project, the Finkelsteins, along with interior designer Jennifer Salvemini and architectural designer Scott Reed, will join the HGTV renovation team to help them overhaul the forgotten places into beautifully restored gems that feature contemporary elements.

Ethan pays tribute to his wife Elizabeth Finkelstein on Mother's Day
'Who's Afraid of a Cheap Old House?' host Ethan Finkelstein recently recognized his wife Elizabeth's effort to manage a business, home and new HGTV show while taking care of the family. He paid tribute to Elizabeth with a series of her beautiful photos on Mother's Day and noted, "I don’t know how she does it."
Ethan added, "It's not often that I, Ethan, get too personal on here, market trends, interest rates, talking trades, that's more my wheelhouse." He added, "But today, #MothersDay, while Elizabeth allows herself a rare moment away from work and the demands of launching a new TV series, I can’t pass up the opportunity to takeover and sing the praises of a woman who truly is the glue of our family."
The HGTV host further noted, "The passion at the heart of our business. The most unfailingly positive person I have ever known. My wife, Elizabeth."

'Who's Afraid of a Cheap Old House?' is scheduled to premiere on May 14 at 10 pm ET on HGTV.
