‘The Masked Singer’ Season 14 finale finally revealed the winner, but the bigger question now goes beyond the result. The April 1 finale delivered everything fans expected, including big performances and reveals that made people either nod knowingly or stare at their screens in shock. Since its debut in 2019, ‘The Masked Singer’ has built a routine that viewers could count on: one season early in the year, another later on. This twice-a-year schedule carried on without much interruption through 2024. Then in 2025, things changed. Instead of sticking to the usual pattern, FOX scaled things back, opting to air just one season that year, which ran from February through May. So, there was no fall edition in the previous year. It turns out, there was a reason. As per Deadline, FOX Entertainment CEO Rob Wade explained that the decision wasn’t random. He pointed out that, “A lot of people forget that ‘Masked Singer’ was actually the first show back during Covid.”
Wade added, “My point is it was incredibly taxing on that crew and that cast and they’ve done a phenomenal job… It just felt like the right time to give the show and the very, very hardworking people involved in it a little bit of breathing space just to regroup creatively.” Moreover, the executive made it clear that the network wasn’t locking itself into a single-season model permanently. He suggested that the idea of returning to two cycles per year is still on the table, though nothing has been locked in. In his words, “But it’s not intended at the moment just to become a one season a year. But we’ll make a decision on that as it comes up.”
So where does that leave Season 15? At the moment, FOX hasn’t officially renewed the show for another installment, at least not publicly. However, the lack of confirmation doesn’t necessarily mean bad news; it just means the decision hasn’t been announced yet. For now, it’s all guesswork. What isn’t up for debate, though, is how Season 14 wrapped its story. After weeks of clues, wild guesses, and performances, the finale narrowed things down to the Top 4, which included Cat Witch, Pugcasso, Crane, and Galaxy Girl. In the end, Galaxy Girl came out on top. When the mask finally came off, the winner was revealed as Ashlee Simpson.
