LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In Episode 5 of 'OMG Fashun', titled 'Super Power B****', the contestants were challenged by Julia Fox to create a super suit for her alter-ego, Super Fox. This suit needed to blend practicality and high fashion, capturing the essence of a supermom. Chelsea Billingsley rose to the challenge by conceptualizing a design that combined sleek lines with bold colors, using durable yet flexible fabrics to ensure both utility and style.

She incorporated features like a fitted silhouette for agility, practical pockets, and a dramatic cape symbolizing power and protection. Her meticulous craftsmanship and innovative approach, blending crochet techniques with modern streetwear aesthetics, impressed Julia and the judges. Chelsea's design perfectly embodied the strength and elegance of a supermom, earning her the win in Episode 5.

Who is Chelsea Billinsgley?

Chelsea Billingsley, from the south side of Chicago, has always had a passion for art. This early interest led her to pursue a creative career, culminating in her education at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). At SCAD, Chelsea discovered her love for fiber arts and fashion, combining her tactile skills with a vibrant sense of color to create unique wearable pieces.

She graduated in May 2019 with a B.F.A. in Surface Design and Textiles and a minor in Fashion Design. Following her graduation, Chelsea founded House of Chelsea B, her own studio practice that merges streetwear fashion with innovative crochet techniques.

Her mission is to change the way people view crochet, bridging the gap between crafts, fine art, and urban attire. She believes in the limitless possibilities of creating a fashion career using yarn and a hooked needle, aiming to demonstrate that these elements can indeed come together harmoniously. As she puts it, "You literally can create anything, including a career in fashion with yarn and a hooked needle."

Law Roach challenges viewers to reinvent

Law Roach challenges viewers to rethink their approach to fashion by reinventing the clothes they already own to LA Times. He criticizes the current trend where people feel pressured to discard outfits after posting them on social media and encourages a different mindset: instead of getting rid of clothes, find new ways to wear and style them. Roach emphasizes the importance of embracing what you love, advising that if you like an item, you should buy it, but more importantly, if you love it, you should live in it.

As he puts it, "We’ve gotten into this culture where once you have something, you post it on social media, and then it has to be discarded—you can never wear it again. I challenge people to reinvent the clothes they already have and the way they've worn them. If you like it, buy it. If you love it, live in it."
