Who is Rio Yamashita? 'Love Like a K-Drama' star pursued acting inspired by Japanese actress and singer Ko Shibasaki
TOKYO, JAPAN: 'Single's Inferno', please step back. Netflix's new reality dating series 'Love Like a K-Drama' will provide a fresh twist on romance and acting.
The dating show will include eight competitors. Four male Korean actors and four female Japanese actresses will cohabit and perform together. Rio Yamashita is among the beautiful female Japanese actresses.
Rio, the eldest and most experienced, was born on October 10, 1992, in Tokushima, Japan, and is a Japanese actor and fashion model. Rio is managed by Stardust Promotion.
Rio chose to become an actor after seeing Ko Shibasaki in the TV drama 'Orange Days' when she was in elementary school. In 2006, she auditioned for Stardust Promotion, with which Ko is linked.
Mitsui Fudosan Realty picked her as the 12th Rehouse Girl in March 2007. Riobe became an exclusive model for the fashion magazine Hanachu later in April. In June, she made her acting debut in the drama 'Koisuru Nichiybi: Dai 3 Series'.
Rio's first starring part in a terrestrial television drama was in the Ai no Gekij 40th anniversary program 'Love Letter' in November 2008. Later the same month, she starred in 'Someday's Dreamers', her first big role.
Rio appeared in the drama 'Limit' in July 2013 as Arisa Morishige, a woman who is harassed and flees in difficult circumstances. Her first regular variety performances were as an assistant on the television show 'A-Studio' in April 2014.
What is Netfix's 'Love Like a K-drama' about?
The official synopsis for 'Love Like a K-drama' was released by Netflix, and it reads, "Will people fall in love when they act together in a romantic K-drama? Love Like a K-Drama is a reality dating show that centers on four Korean actors and four Japanese actresses who come together to live and pair up to try and land lead roles in six mini K-dramas. Will they be able to pass the audition with the person they love, or will they have to witness their romantic interest kissing their competitors?"
