MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Alpha News journalist Liz Collin is the author of the controversial book, 'They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd'. Based on it, a documentary titled 'The Fall of Minneapolis' was released on November 16.

Both the book and the film deal with the narrative surrounding the death of George Floyd in May 2020, the trial of the prime accused police officer, Derek Chauvin, and the fallout of the incident in the city of Minneapolis.

The documentary summary on IMDb states that it has multiple parts, and features "body-worn camera video of George Floyd's arrest; interviews with officers who served during the riots; key evidence from the autopsy and Derek Chauvin's trial; and the aftermath that followed."

Liz Collin's author bio

The author bio of Collin on Amazon reads, "Liz Collin has been a truth-teller for 20 years as a multi-Emmy-Award-winning reporter and anchor."

In addition to writing the book on which the documentary is based, Collin took on the role of the producer for the project, which has been crowdfunded, and directed by Dr JC Chaix.

Who is Liz Collin's husband?

Collin is married to Bob Kroll, the former president of the Minneapolis Police Union.

Kroll faced a class-action lawsuit in 2020 over the treatment of demonstrators following the murder of Floyd. As a part of the settlement, he cannot work as a police officer in three metro counties in the next decade, according to KARE11.

What does Liz Collin have to say?

The controversy surrounding the documentary is that Collin shifts the blame for the death of Floyd by law enforcement officials on the victim himself. Collin even calls the trial of Derek Chavin, who was sentenced to 21 years in prison, a "sham".

The producer reportedly said, "I saw for myself the dangerous narrative the media and politicians pushed in the days following the death of George Floyd. We are still paying the price three years later,” states Alpha News.

Director Chaix added, "Hopefully, this documentary will show how politicians and the media desperately ignored even the most basic facts while turning their backs on reasonable doubt and common sense."
