Who is Jo Aram? Ex-Gugudan member Hyeyeon joins acting agency with new stage name

Hyeyeon has signed with acting label Beyond J as Jo Aram after the disbandment of her former girl group

After nine-member group Gugudan disbanded at the end of 2020 after two years of no activities, all members of the girl group departed from label Jellyfish Entertainment and started solo careers with various new labels. Back in March of 2021, members Soyee and Mimi announced that they were leaving their label, after which member Nayoung also departed from the agency in April of 2021. One by one, Hana and Haebin left too.

Out of the nine, four members namely Sally, Mina, Hyeyeon, and Sejeong were the only ones to remain with the agency. Now as of March 4, it has been announced that Hyeyeon has officially left her original label and joined the acting label Beyond J with a new stage name - Jo Aram. Her new label reported that former Gugudan member Hyeyeon (Jo Aram) has signed an exclusive contract with Beyond J and started her career as an actress.

Ex-Gugudan maknae, Hyeyeon gets a new stage name

In a press release, Beyond J stated that Hyeyeon, who made her debut with Gugudan in 2016, has now decided to move on in her solo career. The label stated that after capturing the attention of fans through her dancing skills and charming visuals, the maknae of the former girl group has now decided to shift to acting. In the official statement, Jo Aram spoke to her fans about her upcoming projects. Talking about her new stage name, she said, “Jo Aram is a friendly person full of bright and lovely energy that attracts the attention of the viewers.” She went on to add how she has infinite potential as an actress. Jo Aram revealed to fans that she was looking forward to her future activities as an actress, a dream that she wishes to fulfill as she takes on a new leap in her career.

One fan said, “Hyeyeon I'm so happy for her. Actress Jo Aram Let's Go! sudden realization.. 6 out of 9 Gugudan members are now an Actress. LET'S GET IT!” One more fan said, “Waiting for the drama project, aahhh actress Jo Aram coming soon.” Another fan said, “I really pity Gugudan, their company mistreated them so badly.”

One fan congratulated her by saying, “Our maknae!!! so excited to see you in your new path.” Another fan said, “Wish you all the best baby girl.” One more fan said, “Hyeyeonieeee im so excited to see you grow as an actress! I so love you and support our golden maknae.”
