Who is Hernandez Govan? Third suspect indicted for fatally shooting Memphis rapper Young Dolph
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: In connection with the high-profile death of Memphis rapper Young Dolph, a third suspect has been indicted. Hernandez Govan, 43, has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, reported Fox News.
On November 17, 2021, Young Dolph, real name Adolph Thornton Jr, was shot to death inside Makeda's Homemade Cookies on Airways Boulevard in Memphis. Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder on the same day. However, his third indictment, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, goes back to June 2021, implying that Hernandez began preparing Young Dolph's murder months before the renowned rapper was killed. Cornelius Smith and Justin Johnson, two other men, have already been charged with Young Dolph's murder.

Who is Hernandez Govan?
Police made an announcement regarding the arrest of a third person involved in Young Dolph's murder on the same day his wife, Mia Jaye, uploaded a touching video about life without him. A grand jury indicted Hernandez Govan, 43, on Thursday, November 10. He was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and first-degree murder conspiracy. He is the third individual to face murder charges in relation to the killing of Young Dolph. The 'Get Paid' rapper and Paper Route Empire mogul were gunned down inside Makeda's Cookies on Airways Boulevard in Memphis, Tennessee. His autopsy indicated that he had 22 gunshot wounds. After the shooting, the city assembled outside Makeda's for weeks, erecting a temporary monument that gradually grew into a gigantic shrine, attracting hundreds of followers before being demolished in March of this year.
"Mr. Govan has been indicted and is in custody for being involved in the Young Dolph murder. He played the role of the person who solicited the murder," Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said. "What we are alleging in our indictment is that he asked for the murder to take place," he added.
The arrest document, which would have contained information on Hernandez's arrest, was not immediately accessible on Thursday night. His prior criminal background reportedly includes both state and federal crimes. Hernandez was allegedly freed from federal prison in July 2019 after spending 40 months on firearms and narcotics offenses.
Cornelius Smith and Justin Johnson, the other two accused, were already charged with Dolph's murder on January 12. Both have issued not-guilty pleas. Another person accused of being an accessory after the fact, Shundale Barnett, was unjustly let out of jail in February. He was reportedly caught later and held in Indiana. The specific motive for Dolph's murder is still unknown.
