OIS STATE, IDAHO: From Season 15 of 'America's Got Talent,' David Rush set a new record. In the audition round, he was eliminated. He is now preparing to return to the NBC show in order to perhaps set a new world record. David Rush, a Boise native who has broken over 150 Guinness World Records, is the 'AGT' hopeful. If his name seems familiar, he set a record in 2020 for the quickest time to swallow a liter of lemon juice with a straw.

The previous record was 17.12 seconds, but Rush reduced it to 16.53 seconds. He followed that up a few days later by breaking the lime juice record. He said on his website that he isn't a big admirer of eating or drinking records, but they've been a little easier to obtain during the COVID-19 epidemic. Now he'll be ack on this season of 'AGT' for the third round of auditions, which will show on June 13.

Who is David Rush?

One of the world's most prolific Guinness World Records holders is David. He is a technology industry veteran with Cradlepoint, the market leader in cloud-delivered 4G and 5G network technologies, as well as an author, lecturer, entertainer, and MC. He holds an MBA from Boise State and an Electrical Engineering degree from MIT.

Furthermore, he got the top undergraduate lab award in electrical engineering at MIT for his work on a juggling simulator. He has participated in 'AGT', appeared as a guest on the 'TODAY' program, and won the MIT-wide Talent competition twice. He has also been in the top three in 'Idaho's Got Talent' twice. Since late 2015, he has smashed more than 150 Guinness World Records while supporting STEM fields through speeches and DavidRush4STEM.

He holds the world records for most bowling balls juggled, most consecutive axe juggling catches, and longest duration balancing a bicycle on the chin. He worked as an ASIC Design Engineer at Marvell Semiconductor after getting his electrical engineering degree. Likewise, he concentrated on entrepreneurship at Boise State and competed in various business plan contests in the United States and internationally. He won the Benchmark Capital Challenge at the Global Moot Corp Business Plan Competition, defeating teams from France, Germany, and China.

He has been with Cradlepoint since April 2010 and is now a Senior Product Manager in charge of the LTE, 5G, and hardware platform roadmaps. David is a dynamic speaker that engages audiences on a wide range of topics, including growth mindset, comic juggling, and current affairs, as well as LTE, 5G, and beyond. He began setting Guinness World Records in 2015 to promote STEM education and the importance of having a development mentality. David broke his 249th record during an episode of 'LIVE with Kelly and Ryan' that aired in September 2022, when he was recognized for the most marshmallows captured in the mouth using a homemade catapult in one minute.

David on 'AGT'

In Season 15, David successfully broke a world record by shredding the most T-shirts in a minute while wearing them. Despite the fact that Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell voted "yes," Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara voted "no," removing him from the competition. David added to his outstanding total in 2023 when he broke the world record for — the most alternating fist bumps in a half-minute. A video of the supersonic salutations that was shared on the internet quickly went viral.

The purpose of this allegedly sadomasochistic action was to break the record for the most alternating fist bumps in less than 30 seconds – which apparently exists. Rush and his helper allegedly hammered their fists 273 times in 30 seconds, shattering the previous record of 174 established by Nafees Istay Taufiq Antu and Akibur Rahman Saikat in April. He's most likely bringing his latest talent to 'AGT' for a second chance at stardom.

'America's Got Talent' airs new episodes every Tuesday on NBC at 8 pm ET.
