Who is Dani Kerr? 'AGT' Season 18 contestant was homeless for years and lived in car with abusive boyfriend
STATESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: 'America's Got Talent' Season 18 is in its third week of auditions and has already witnessed stirring performances. However, fans are yet to catch another string of impressive, shocking, emotional, and hilarious performances in the coming weeks.
The latest season of ABC show documents a new set of acts, from musicians to comedians, participating in the fourth round of the auditions in the competition. The contestants will deliver some death-defying and incredible stunts and stunning stage performances. Fans of the popular competitive show have been excited to meet new hopefuls especially Dani Kerr in the new round of auditions.
Who is Dani Kerr?
Dani is a musician from Statesville, NC, who soars when it comes to delivering soul music and Southern rock n roll. She got her first guitar at age 6 but she did not have anyone to teach her how to use it. But not one to wait for a guide, she learnt the instrument herself. In this way, she has taught herself how to play multiple instruments with determination and hard work over the years.
Dani has been struggled since she was born. According to Dani's website, her mouth's roof was missing due to cleft pallet which required several surgeries to correct. Furthermore, Dani couldn't hear or talk normally for years because her ears were blocked. She worked hard at speech therapy but was teased relentlessly by other kids all the way up through middle school. Although the constant bully had hampered her confidence but never stopped her from singing. Dani's struggle didn't stopped there, she was homeless the last couple years of high school when she was a teenager. Dani used to live mostly in her car with an abusive boyfriend.
Dani later decided to use her 'fear and pain' in her music. She noted in her website that her personal woes gives her a lot of strength and power. She thinks that her personal struggles really helped her music. Meanwhile, Dani wants to pick up where the southern rock legends left off. Lately Dani has been writing and recording her original songs and performing them live in front of audiences throughout the south.
'America’s Got Talent' Season 18 contestant's fear and pain give strength to her music
Dani is all set to bring her Southern Rock music to ABC show 'America's Got Talent' Season 18. The musician has shared her excitement on her social media. She shared her photo with the caption, "Cat’s out of the bag… I’ll see y’all on NBC on America’s Got Talent June 20th, 2023! I am so honored to be a part of season 18 with some incredibly talented humans!" Dani has been performing at the different places for long. She has performed at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and has been gigging the past years, sometimes solo, and sometimes with her band, 'The Skeleton Krew'. Dani recently released an EP titled, 'Honky Tonk Hippie: Side One' which is a combination of originals and covers.
