Who is Dani Kerr?

Dani is a musician from Statesville, NC, who soars when it comes to delivering soul music and Southern rock n roll. She got her first guitar at age 6 but she did not have anyone to teach her how to use it. But not one to wait for a guide, she learnt the instrument herself. In this way, she has taught herself how to play multiple instruments with determination and hard work over the years.

Dani has been struggled since she was born. According to Dani's website, her mouth's roof was missing due to cleft pallet which required several surgeries to correct. Furthermore, Dani couldn't hear or talk normally for years because her ears were blocked. She worked hard at speech therapy but was teased relentlessly by other kids all the way up through middle school. Although the constant bully had hampered her confidence but never stopped her from singing. Dani's struggle didn't stopped there, she was homeless the last couple years of high school when she was a teenager. Dani used to live mostly in her car with an abusive boyfriend.

Dani later decided to use her 'fear and pain' in her music. She noted in her website that her personal woes gives her a lot of strength and power. She thinks that her personal struggles really helped her music. Meanwhile, Dani wants to pick up where the southern rock legends left off. Lately Dani has been writing and recording her original songs and performing them live in front of audiences throughout the south.
